Description

About your property: Hathersage B&B opened it's doors in October 2016 with the aim of providing comfortable, relaxed and friendly accommodation in this ever popular Peak District village. Our fresh, modern rooms and hearty breakfasts (with a focus on local produce) will set you up for your day - whatever your plans. Designed with outdoor enthusiasts in mind we offer secure storage for bikes and a dedicated drying room for when the weather gets the better of you! Or, if your pursuits are less energetic, the south facing terrace is the ideal spot to drink in the panoramic views from Millstone Edge in the east towards Hope and beyond in the west. About your neighbourhood: There is no shortage of activities to occupy you here. Walkers, climbers and cyclists have long been drawn to the striking gritstone edges, miles of footpaths and bridleways and stunning views at every turn. You can choose from any number of routes quite literally from our doorstep. Hathersage heated outdoor pool - voted the best lido in britain in 2013 - is a perennial favourite, open from March to September, with cold water dips also available for the very hardy on some winter weekends. Just a few minutes along the valley brings you to the pretty village of Castleton, home to Peveril Castle, the famous show caverns and the magical beauty of Winnat's Pass. A little further afield the stately homes at Chatsworth and Haddon as well as the ancient market town of Bakewell are all within an easy 20 - 30 minute drive. And in between them all, any number of picturesque and historic villages, local landmarks and beauty spots to discover. Food and drink: Hathersage itself boasts three pubs (all within a short walk of the B&B) offering different dining options. There are several cafes and tea rooms, an award winning deli, a bakery and, for something completely out of the ordinary, the fabulous Hathersage Social Club - definitely the only 'kitchen, bar and mini cinema' in the valley!

The sloping nature of our site and the way the house was originally constructed mean that there are a minimum of six steps (with handrail) up to the entrance. Once inside, the accommodation is all on one level.
