Disappointing

We booked several weeks in advance and paid the full room cost but on arrival the Balmoral had no record of our booking and we were left with the only room left two single beds pushed together. Very disappointing. Read more

Pleasently surprised, nice little haven overlooking lough.

Stayed Saturday night to attend a family wedding reception in nearby hotel, hadn't been in Warrenpoint for many years so was pleasently surprised by the standard of the accomodation, hotel had been modernised, room was clean, comfortable, quiet and very adequate, staff very friendly and welcoming, breakfast in the restuarant overlooking the lough was superb. A mixed bag

We were booked in for two nights' B&B and, on the recommendation of friends, we booked two evening meals. We were taken aback by the lack of notices to indicate the entrance, and the lack of anybody on Reception. We saw a notice for a disco on Thurs/Fri/Sat nights starting at 11.30 pm! There was no car park. Traffic noise (not the hotel's fault) from 5.30 am and virtually incessant until about 2.00 am the following morning. Read more

Disco - horrendous noise both from it and from those attending, until the wee small hours. Room was poor - only one chair. The shower and basin took for ever to empty. Traffic noise late at night.

A Great Stay!

It was a bit awkward when we walked into a pub to check in to the hotel. Once we figured out this is where we check in the room was more then adequate for our purposes. We were in town for a wedding just a few doors down at the Whistledown Hotel. When we came back to the hotel later that night at around 2am the bar downstairs and street area around it were quite busy. It was a bit loud and audible from the room but didn't really bother us. The door locks from the outside in the evening and at sometime in the morning. That being said there is usually a staff member there to let you in if you knock at the door.

Great staff with great sense of humour

My wife and I stayed for one night on the sixth of July. We were attending a wedding at the whistle down hotel down the street. We booked in shortly after 2pm and got back to the room at 5 am. We were also with some work colleagues whom were also staying. The staff were great craic and kept the bar open until we were ready to retire/ go unconscious. The room was great with a really comfortable bed, very clean and a great shower. The hotel is in a great location Read more
