Description

Steve and Angela invite you to relax at Barnabas House, a gracious Edwardian residence, tucked away in a peaceful Dartmoor location. We offer very comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation, some rooms with views over the moor, great service, attention to detail, fabulous locally sourced food and friendly hosts, as well as the bonus of free onsite parking and free wi-fi in all rooms and public areas. Both leisure and business travellers are most welcome. We have been rated 4 star by Visit England and have received their coveted Gold award and Breakfast award. Guest rooms at Barnabas House are spacious and centrally heated with comfortable beds and crisp white linen, colour TV/DVD with Freeview, hospitality tray, complimentary Cole & Lewis luxury toiletries and fluffy white bath sheets. Our ground floor en-suite kingsize room with its own private patio is a particular favourite. Our twin en-suite room or our family suite with private bathroom are always popular with friends or family members travelling together, or you can enjoy our other beautiful spacious superking room, king size rooms and double room. Work or play, get your day off to a great start with a full English or continental breakfast using fresh local produce, served in our breakfast room or in the sunny courtyard garden if weather permits. Vegetarian options are available and special diets can be catered for by arrangement. We have secure cycle storage, and drying facilities for walking and cycling equipment. Yelverton is a small village with evening meals available at pubs and restaurants 5 minutes walk from Barnabas House. Leave your car in our free parking and take the excellent bus services across the moor or into Plymouth and Tavistock. The beauty Dartmoor is on your doorstep for walking or cycling, including Drake's Trail, on Sustrans route 27. Many National Trust properties are within 1 hour's drive, Buckland Abbey only 10 minutes away.

Wheelchair ramp from car park then flat for about 8 metres then wheelchair ramp into main house. Ground floor room is also wheelchair accessible as is public toilet. The ground floor en-suite is NOT adapted for wheelchair use, but the room and bathroom are usable with a wheelchair with the assistance of a carer. Handrail on ramp from car park, stairs all have handrails on the left. Annex rooms and rooms 5 (double) and 6 (twin) in main house are on first floor and may be achievable for those with only slightly limited mobility.
