Description

The Bed and Breakfast accommodation was recently acquired by Nigel and Dawn Pattinson, who until recently also ran ‘the Dog and Gun’ public house at nearby Carlton Miniott. Renovations to the Forresters Arms have been carried out where care has been made only to enhance the quintessential Old Country Inn charm that the Forresters bed and breakfast has become famous for, not discounting the 10 guest rooms, which are now all en-suite with television, tea/coffee, bath and/or shower facilities. Please Note that due to the inconsiderate behaviour of previous guests, there is no access to the property after midnight. Next door to the B&B accommodation is the famous Robert ‘Mousey’ Thompson workshops, which is situated very close to the visitor centre. Both of our bars are furnished with some fine examples of his early work, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and will appeal to all ages. The bars are still staunchly supported by the locals, who welcome visitors, and are more than happy to wile away the nights recounting many a local tale! Kilburn is located around 20 miles north of York centre. It is ideally located for walkers participating in the Cleveland Way. They can look forward to roaring log fires and an excellent selection of real ales, and an extensive menu incorporating local produce. This is the heart of James Herriot Country, within the North York Moors National Park. The Forresters is ideally situated as a touring base, within striking distance of the moors and coast, and most main towns.

An access statement can be provided for the building. The Forresters Arms is on a sloping site, slopes have been incorperated where possible to make access for wheelchairs easier.
