Stunning views great bedroom

We were greeted with beautiful homemade scones which we enjoyed in the lovely dining room with stunning coastal views.
Our room (The Cleeves) had an enormous and very comfortable bed, great views and a lovely sofa.
Breakfast was very good, the first day we had the vegetarian breakfast which kept us going throughout the day and the second morning we only managed the delicious croissants.

Perfect!

Karen and Mike were perfect hosts, welcoming me with a (gluten free) cream tea, which started the process of relaxation in the wonderful Highcliffe. The views were fabulous and there was peace and quiet at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. I stayed in the gorgeous Hollerday (room on 1st floor with a shower) and slept like a log on the luxurious bed. Breakfast was the best I've had for a long time. Read more

Best B and B we have stayed in!

We stayed in the Summerhouse room. The sea views were stunning, the bed was huge and very comfortable and there was a sofa as well to admire the views from. Tea and coffee facilities were excellent and we able to request fresh milk which was left in a flask- a nice touch.
Ordering cooked breakfast the night before meant that there was minmial waiting time in the morning. The breakfasts were superb- from the fresh fruit and yogurt to the excellent cooked breakfast, all with wonderful sea view Read more

A warm welcome on the steep hillside of Lynton

We stayed for three nights and did some walking and town visits. The village was really interesting, although if you're going to make the most of it you'll need to be quite fit as the roads and pathways are very steep in places. However, there is a fernicular to take some of the strain if you wish (and I'd recommend it as it's great fun). Very relaxing with a warm and friendly welcome. Read more

High expectations and high standards were met at Highcliffe.

Our intention was to spend a few relaxing and comfortable days away in pleasant surroundings, to be pampered and indulged, and also to have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. We were able to visit several local National Trust properties as well as journeying to both coastal and countryside towns. Despite changeable weather, we managed to achieve all our aims. Read more

Arrived safely with the directions given. We were early but were obligingly allowed to leave our car and luggage. We did some local walks along the coast path which was the main aim of our break. We ate out in some very good local restaurants. The situation and ambiance of this hotel were excellent. A lovely B&B in a charming location

We really enjoyed our stay at Highcliffe House. Everything about it was perfect from the beautiful decor to the warm welcome and fantastic breakfasts. It is obviously a labour of love for Mike and Karen and this means that everything is thought about very carefully to ensure that guests are comfortable and have everything they could possibly need and more besides to make it a very special place to stay. A short overnight stay that should have been longer!

We arrived early on Saturday morning to be greeted at Highcliffe by morning coffee overlooking the stunning views. We only stayed for one night but were very impressed with the attention to detail as our trip was made all the more easier when we were advised about our trip (a short walking holiday) and where was best to walk and visit. Well situated (if you are ok with small hills) in Lynton. You can easily get to Lynmouth via cliff railway, zig zag walkway or by road which takes a couple of minutes down the hill. Hotel was beautiful and very clean. Decorated to a high spec and in keeping with the building. Superb experience all round

The room we stayed in (Countisburn) was beautiful. Like the rest of the house, it strikes the perfect balance between embracing the modern and retaining the traditional. The breakfast choice and provision was fantastic. The owners were friendly and always willing to offer their local knowledge.
