The price was reasonable. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was well decorated. Always pleased to find biscuits with the teamaking facilities!

We had a bit of trouble getting the temperature right. The music from a nearby pub went on quite late and we could hear it - it disturbed us less than we thought it would.

Very good accommodation, cleanliness first rate and good selection of breakfast dishes.

I stayed for two nights and left the hotel very early on the Saturday morning and returned late the same day. Excellent location for the railway station, two minutes from hotel. Breakfast was missed on Saturday, but ate on Sunday morning. Very good coffee and food. I was in a double room as the singles had already been taken. Read more

Cleanliness of room and bed linen, although the mattress was a little lumpy (Room 10). Location was excellent for my early morning train. I thought that the breakfast menu was just right.

One Night Stay Within City

A somewhat last minute decision to stay overnight in Swindon. After some browsing on comparison sites and Apple maps, we found this hotel to be competitively priced with other short stay chain hotels. Our main reason for being in the area was the railway museum and outlet shopping centre. Read more

The room was large and clean, plenty of space to spread out, and the staff were very friendly and pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was also very enjoyable.
Dislikes?
There were fine margins to keep shower pressure and temperature between the hot and cold taps, and the bed wasn't as firm as I would have liked, but I appreciate that comes down to personal preference

No food available, no room service, TV poor in the extreme with channels digitized, forced to go out in pouring rain to eat, staff incompetent and Manager a desperate effort. If you are looking for impeccably clean rooms at a good price and location, look no further.

Due to a delay on the train I arrived more than an hour after check-in time passed. I rang the mobile number on the sign at the door. Within a few minutes a tired (but uncomplaining) man let me in and completed the check-in process. The room was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and the shower worked like a dream. My only complaint was I slept so well that I didn't have time to have breakfast the next morning before setting off again. Read more

Good hotel at an affordable price

I stayed for a weekend in November and was very pleased with the hotel. It's essentially a glorified pub, but it was everything I needed and represented very good value for money. It was better than some of Swindon's more expensive hotels that I've stayed in, and I will definitely consider returning when I visit Swindon again. Read more

Good little find for a short term stay

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending the Rugby in Cardiff. Location was great, right next to the station and free parking available. Convenient, clean and modern hotel great for overnight stay; noisy for those who dislike earplugs

This hotel was perfect for staying right next to the train station. Both the pub and hotel have clearly been remodeled recently, and are very modern, attractive and clean-feeling. At first they put me in a room with no window (which wouldn't be a big deal for people who don't care about looking outside), but then I asked to change rooms and they put me in a different room. The only downside is it is very noisy. This didn't bother me as I sleep with earplugs, but it might be very unpleasant. Read more

Would not really call this a Hotel

This is not really a hotel; more just rooms above a pub. The room was not very clean and nor was the bathroom. During showering the waterpressure dropped dramatically and there was only a tiny bit of flow. Not very convenient when you stand there all shampood up! There is no phone in the room so you can't even ring reception to ask if there is any hope that the waterpressure will come back.

Very disappointed with the room and noise

Booked the room for 2 nights (big mistake). The bathroom was filthy, when we put the white bathmat on the floor it turned brown from soaking up the filthy water between the tiles, our feet turned the same colour after having a shower. Wonky shelves and dirty marks, needed a complete makeover. Friday night they had a disco right under our room, we were kept awake till the early hours, had to use headphones to lessen the noise. Tatty room with poor furniture. Definitely one to miss! Read more

Came to visit family in good location near to town and facilities. Some problems found in the stay.

Room was two flights of stairs up and no lift. One member of our party became ill and could not get down the stairs physically. The staff offered a ground flor room but was unable to get husband down until I got help from family to bring down to obtain medical help, then there was no rom available so had to go back up with difficulty. Sunday room was not cleaned and other rooms obviously did have dirty linen removed left on the corridor all day. Sunday closed hotel late afternoon no facilities. Read more

Clean, cheap, central

Apart from the extortionate fees for the Hotel parking, I parked outside, the hotel was adequate for a night.Light in bathroom not working, air filter clogged with dust and not butter at breakfast. small things that were unnecessary. Parking- main problem. Read more

Could do better

We were staying on business, we were told breakfast was from 7am. We went down at 7am, the dining room was locked, there was no one around so we had to leave without breakfast. When we left the car park a member of staff was trying to get in but everywhere was locked up. The first room we were given only one bed was made up and one window had no curtain, the second the TV did not work properly. Read more

Never Again

well firstly we were shown to the wrong room, which already had someone elses bags in it,then we were taken to another room which was quite dirty,a lot of dust (i wrote clean me in it )dirty edges of carpet ,large vomit stain next to bed.tv didnt work properly and had to get the manager to fix it.Bath had hair in it and moths were flying around.when we went to sleep we were woken at about 12 midnight by drunken other 'inmates' letting off the fire extinguishers in the hallway outside our room. Good Value Break Surprising Swindon as a Tourist Destination

We planned to stay in the area so that we could visuit Oxford and the STEAM Museum but were pleasantly surprised by the town and its excellent shopping area and the shopping complex near the museum

the only downside was the continental breakfast which was poor . We will come again

Thank You
