Glad you enjoyed your January break & loved hearing about your daily walks - Filey to Scarborough coastal walk, bargain train journey back to Filey then South to North Landing at Flamborough Head, drive though Woldgate to Sledmere House for tea & Garden walk. Working up an appetite to enjoy local eateries. Hope to see you again sometime? If you ring direct I can discuss rooms & winter offers, Katrina

A stunningly beautiful place with lovely people.

We received a warm reception on arrival. Our spacious room was clean, well furnished with everything needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The en-suite bathroom was attractive, light and airy with all the necessary comforts. Breakfast was an absolute delight with all manner of cereals, fresh fruit from the garden, home baked bread, a wealth of preserves and yoghurt, as well as the usual cooked breakfast there was Filey Bay crab, smoked salmon and smoked haddock. A beautiful place. Read more

Perfect place to stay in The Wolds

Everything was wonderful staying here. The house is lovely and the gardens beautiful and very well kept. We were given a warm welcome with tea and cake, taken in the garden as the sun was shining. Katrina kindly agreed to provide an evening meal each evening which was very much appreciated, especially on the first evening as there were just the two of us. The choice at breakfast was as good as anywhere we have stayed in the world so can see why Wold Cottage has won so many rewards. Read more

It was just a little too far to walk to the neighbouring pubs and restaurants so one of us had to drive. This was not really a problem.

Simply the best

Wonderfully relaxing - warmly welcomed and made to feel completely at home throughout. Beautiful location and rooms. Attention to detail goes beyond hotels we have stayed in and many little touches really "delighted these customers". Read more

Just the job - Brilliant!!

What a palace! The Wold Cottage is anything but a cottage. It is a magnificent building set in the most amazing gardens with breath taking views across the Yorkshire countryside. Such a lovely welcome from Katrina and Derek who attended to our every needs and the breakfast was superb, set us all up for the day ahead. Its just a pity we couldn't stay longer but will aim to return if we are in the area. Read more

Peace and Quiet in Luxury

We were greeted warmly and shown around. The first impression was excellent, the room was amazing and views spectacular, we felt instantly at home and delighted in our choice of Hotel. We found everyone really helpful and everything was very relaxed. The room facilities were perfect, all of a very high quality. The breakfast was second to none and service could not be faulted, nothing was too much trouble. We will definately return again in the future. Read more

Charming setting for a short holiday near the coast.

Our main purpose was to see puffins and we were delighted to find some, plus many other birds. With a 14 year old as well, we found many different things in the area to interest us all. Wold Cottage was easy to return to during the day and always welcoming. Read more

Luxurious stay in beautiful Georgian house

This was our second stay at the Wold Cottage and again we were extremely impressed with both the luxurious accommodation and mouthwatering breakfast (smoked salmon and scrambled egg for me and full English for my partner, all accompanied by freshly baked bread (still warm) and as much tea/coffee as we could drink. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming, even arranging dinner for us at a local restaurant. A totally relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. We will be back ...! Read more
