Aberdovey Golf Club Information

Description

Aberdovey is proud to boast a championship links golf course which is consistently rated in the Top 100 Golf Courses in the UK and Ireland. Members and visitors alike appreciate the true links experience the course has to offer and, together with the beautiful surroundings and the warmth of the welcome in the clubhouse, have realised the hidden gem that our course represents. There can be few better places to taste what golf was once like than at Aberdovey - links golf at its most traditional. Our Dormy bungalow is a great place to stay for a golfing break. It overlooks the 18th green and is immediately adjacent to the clubhouse - it couldn't be more convenient! Rated as 4-star by Visit Wales, this comfortable accommodation is serviced daily and is ideal for parties of up to 12 people. It has six twin bedded rooms all with en-suite bath/shower room and each room has a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Accessibility

All accommodation is on the ground floor level however there is a single step up into all bedrooms. There is a lift in the main clubhouse for access to the bar and restaurant area.

Directions

  • Road from Wolverhampton (100.0 miles)
    From the Midlands take the M54 to Shrewsbury. From the Shrewsbury ring road follow the A458 West to Welshpool, Machynlleth and then the A493 coastal road to Aberdovey The Club is ¼ mile West of Aberdovey village, near to the railway station.
  • Road from Llandudno (70.0 miles)
    From Northern Wales take the A470 South and then either the A493 coastal road going South West or the A487 South towards Machynlleth followed by the A493 coastal road to Aberdovey. The Club is ¼ mile West of Aberdovey village, near to the railway station.
  • Train from Birmingham International (110.0 miles)
    The train station for the golf course is directly adjacent to the club house. A direct train service (Arriva Trains Wales) runs regularly to Shrewsbury and Birmingham. Change at Birmingham New Street for connections to London. The Cambrian Coast line along the Dovey estuary, and hugging the coast northwards to Pwllheli is one of the great scenic rail journeys in the UK.
  • Air from Birmingham International (110.0 miles)
    Birmingham and Manchester airports are all within 2½ drive from Aberdovey. The scenery on the way makes the drive itself worthwhile. Alternatively, why not use the train from Birmingham International for a direct to the door service? The clubhouse is located at the end of the station platform - it couldn't be easier!
