Description

Heather and Niall welcome you to our Victorian Bed & Breakfast home which is full of character. It retains many original features and with all the modern facilities you expect. Bay Tree House is conveniently positioned 200ms from Seaton's mile long protected pebble beach. The high street is a short walk away with various shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Enjoy picturesque walks from the door step along the Jurassic coast, a World Heritage Site. Entertainment can be found at The Gateway Theater Company for live shows and cinema. www.thegatewayseaton.co.uk You can relax in our spacious, light, clean and comfortable rooms which have coordinated furnishings and are all freshly decorated for the 2017 season. Some of our rooms have stunning sea views across Lyme Bay. All have free WiFi, flat screen TV with Freeview, hospitality tray including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh bottled water, Bonbon jar and local Moores Biscuits. There are cosy bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and a powerful hair dryer in all rooms. Daily housekeeping is provided. Free car parking is available. A fridge is located on the first floor providing fresh organic milk, cooled water and soft drinks. Complimentary homemade cake with tea or coffee is offered on arrival. Subsequent days ‘Help Yourself’ in the afternoon to homemade cakes in the breakfast room. Our English Breakfasts are freshly prepared with locally sourced foods wherever possible. There is a choice of fresh fruit and Heather’s homemade yoghurt, granola, soda bread and Seville marmalade. There are plenty of attractions and activities close by including the Seaton Tramway, Seaton Jurassic, Wetlands Nature Reserve and walks in East Devon Area of Natural Beauty.and along the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The picturesque towns of Beer, Axmouth, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are all within a 8 mile radius. The cathedral town of Exeter is 25 miles away.

Directions

  • Train from Axminster (12.0 miles)
    Bus or taxi required to and from from the train station. Quick trains from the Midlands and the North to Exeter and from Londons Paddington and Waterloo stations to Exeter's St Davids station are available. There is also a slower train service from London Waterloo to Exeter Central stopping at Axminster, Honiton, Feniton and Whimple. The train station at Axminster is 7 miles from Seaton and there is a local bus and taxi service between the two towns. Check your train times.
  • Bus from Exeter (23.0 miles)
    From Exeter Bus Station it is possible to take the Jurassic Coast Line X53 Service, they run every 2 hours from Exeter to Weymouth. The Route takes these buses through Sidford, Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Bridport and onto Weymouth. Allow an hour for the bus journey from Exeter to Seaton.   • Air from Exeter Airport (18.0 miles)
    Bus or taxi from airport to get to your destination. Exeter Airport is in East Devon off the A30, 5 miles east of Exeter and 18 miles west of Seaton.   • Road from Horton Cross off A303 (19.0 miles)
    Seaton can be reached from the M5 take Junction 29 which is about 16 miles away. Take the A30 to Honiton, at Honiton turn off onto the A38 to Axminster and then onto the A358 to Seaton. Or exit the M5 at junction 30 and take the A3052, the East Devon Heritage Coast Way which passes through some beautiful scenery via Sidmouth and onto Seaton. Driving from London and the South East via the M4 join the M5 at Bristol or as an alternative use the A303 and A30 which is mainly dual carriageway
