    Directions to Pavones Point:

    Driving Directions:

You have two options to get to Pavones from the San Jose Airport.

Flying: Local carriers Sansa and Nature Air offer daily flights into Puerto Jimenez and Golfito.

Golfito Airport: This is the most convenient because of its close proximity to Pavones. The plane ride takes approximately one hour. Rental cars, as well as taxis, are available in Golfito. From there it is a two-hour drive to Pavones. See detailed driving directions below:

Puerto Jimenez Airport: This option is for those who wish to see a bit of the Osa Peninsula on their way to Pavones. From Puerto Jimenez, a ferry runs twice daily to Golfito. From Golfito, it is a two-hour drive to Pavones.

Rent a Vehicle: You can rent a vehicle from the airport and drive to Pavones. This will take approximately 7-hours to drive. See directions below the Golfito directions. Please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss your different options. We would be more than happy with assisting when booking the flights to Golfito and setting up Taxi's and/or rental cars. When renting a vehicle, we highly recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle.

    4. Drive 1.7km (1 mile) on road to the soccer field and turn right to Conte and Pavones (stay on the main road) You will come to a right-hand turn 1.3km (.8 miles) from the soccer field – look for a sign directing you toward Pavones. You will also see a sign here for "Tiskita Lodge".

    5. Cross concrete “Nun’s Bridge” - stay in the middle lane.

When you reach Palmar, make sure you fill up on gas at the gas station as this is the last gas station (There is a gas station in Golfito but this will cost you about 40 extra minutes for the detour). At the main intersection, you will then want to take a right (South) which is the Interamerican Highway (Highway 2). Follow this towards Rio Claro.

**Please note that there are no gas stations, ATM’s or banks in Pavones, and the nearest gas station and ATM is either in Palmar, Golfito, or Paso Canoas so make sure you fill your gas tank full before continuing on to Pavones from your selected route.
