Bedingfeld Arms Information

Description

The five rooms in the main building ( The Penthouse Suite, The Bedingfeld Suite with 4 poster, The Red Room with 4 poster , The Blue Room and the Green Room) are the premium larger rooms and the 5 Coach rooms all offer tremendous value and are all dog friendly as well. All the rooms have the amazingly comfortable 1500 sprung mattresses, televisions, and en-suite bathroom facilities. The Penthouse on the top floor is our largest room and has a full size sitting room as well as the bathroom with both a large claw bath and separate walk in power shower. Our private dining oak and stone room built in 2016 from oak trees on Stephens and Catkins estate and overlooking the Bedingfeld’s sunlit lawns , the Oak and Stone Room is a stunning location which can sometimes be booked privately for parties of 12 or more for just £100. With seating for up to 22 people, it is a wonderful place in which to enjoy special occasions, private parties, reunions and events.

The Bedingfeld Arms is located in the heart of a peaceful, rural part of West Norfolk known as ‘The Brecks’ with a wealth of nature walks and cycling routes in and around the Thetford forest and amongst the ancient heathlands with their unique flora and fauna. Overlooking the village green, and next to the magnificent early 16th century Church of St. John the Evangelist, famous for its rare terracotta sacred screens within. National Trust’s 15th century moated manner house, Oxburgh Hall lies opposite with its formal gardens and where many seasonal events are organised literally a stone’s throw from our spacious and open garden. The tranquil village of Oxborough lies half way between Stoke Ferry and Swaffham, and central to many market towns and cities of Norfolk and Suffolk. The Bedingfeld Arms was built in 1783 as the coaching inn for the Bedingfeld family, still living at Oxburgh Hall. The Inn was taken over by Stephen and Catkin Parker in Early 2012 who took great pleasure in energetically refurbishing and transforming the building whilst maintaining respect for its history and natural charm.
