Bliss Point Farm Information
Description
This B&B is located on 12 beautiful acres, on a scenic country road, halfway in between Charlottesville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, only 15 minutes from the Charlottesville airport. It is part of a converted historic country store, built in 1891. There are 3 wineries in a 2.5 mil radius and countless more around that. One, Moss vineyard, is in walking distance, right across the road from us. Guests are invited to enjoy the land and gardens and a 5 min walk to the Lynch river, which after heavy rains can be wild, but provides a beautiful opportunity to cool off even during the hottest times. One of the key characteristics of this place is our commitment to environmental health and sustainability. The entire complex is geo-thermally heated and cooled. Since the temperature 6' under the ground surface is 55 degrees all year round. Therefore this system can skim off warmth in winter, and coolness in summer without burning fossil fuels. All of our linens a 100% cotton and natural fibers. We don't use any scented detergents or room fresheners and our mattresses are firm and chemical free. There are 2 entrances. You can get to your room through the large porch in front of the kitchen and an inside stair case or walk around the front of the building and ascend the outside stair case.
My husband Reimer and I, Sarah, are retired and live in one of the farmhouses attached to the main building. We love assisting you with as much hospitality and attention as you desire. But you are also free to remain completely private during your stay, if that is your preference. Since there is a keyless entrance, you can arrive and leave any time. There is ample information provided in each room about shops, restaurants, parks, wineries, your wifi connection and other pertinent information.
