Bear’s Den Cottage Information
Description

Private hiking, hot tub/gas fireplace/AC/TV (no satellite)/BlueRay/charcoal grill. 2-night minimum/3-night minimum holiday weekends. Environmentally-friendly business since 2000. The Bear's Den Cottage was designed and built by owner's Gwen and Mike in 1996. They opened it as a cabin rental in the year 2000 and have been in the lodging business since then except for 2021 when Gwen redesigned a remodel for the cottage. All of the timbers and wood for the cottage including framing and siding wood was timbered and milled by the nearby local Amish. Gwen and Mike removed one small sapling tree to locate the cottage tenderly on a hillside and woods. Gwen has operated the Bear's Den Cottage as an environmentally-friendly business since 2000. Recycling and composting while staying at the cottage. Organic/Fair trade coffee/organic tea is provided. All natural ESA bar soaps and all natural liquid hand soap and dish detergent are provided. All cleaning supplies are all natural and/or organic. Gwen and Mike have extensive backgrounds in Architecture/Landscape Architecture and the building trades. Gwen grew up on Bear Run Road, the location of the cottage, during her grade school and middle school years. She has a strong background in nature/environmental education. She is also a singer, song writer and author. She has published her first book in 2021.
