Parking. The house offers ample free car parking within the private grounds. Breakfast Served daily in our spacious, sun-drenched dining area, our breakfast is guaranteed to fuel your days’ adventures. Guests can choose between continental and cooked options, ranging between delicious pastries through to locally-sourced sausages and free-range eggs. A Continental breakfast is included in the room price. Freshly made cooked breakfasts are available to order for a small cost and if you require an earlier breakfast, a room breakfast can be arranged to be left the evening before. Food & Drink Dining at Ty Afon is a relaxed affair. Operating on the belief that food should be savoured slowly and socially with a glass of something good, each offering is designed to nourish both the body and soul.     The easiest way to reach Beddgelert is by car.

    Approaching from the A5, turn onto the A498 at Capel Curing and drive through the stunning scenery along the Nant Gwynant valley to arrive at Beddgelert.


  • Road from Caernarfon (12.8 miles)

  • Road from Porthmadog (7.6 miles)
    From Porthmadog on the A497 drive along the impressive Aberglaslyn Pass to reach Beddgelert.

  • Train from Porthmadog & Bangor (7.6 miles)
    By Rail.The nearest mainline train station is either Porthmadog (9 miles away) or Bangor (25 miles away); the Welsh Highland Railway runs from Porthmadog to Caernarfon and the halfway point station is in the centre of Beddgelert.

  • Bus from Porthmadog & Caernarfon (13.0 miles)

    There are several bus routes to Beddgelert and the Snowdon Sherpa runs through Beddgelert and around the base of Snowdon, stopping at all the 6 main footpaths. Full details of their services can be found on the Gwynedd Council's website.


  • Road from Village (0.1 miles)
    Arrival in Beddgelert. From the main road Gwynant Street, it is sign posted with a brown sign. You will turn off the main road through the village and go over a single track bridge over the river. Continue around the back of the Cottages on the green and bear to the right. Continue on past some more cottages on your right and then you will head up a straight lane and Bryn Egwlys is there at the end of the lane. There is a sign post at the bottom of the driveway.
