Find your palate's desire at any of the unique restaurants in the area. Take home a treasure from one of our many local artisans, there's even a Southern Illinois Pottery Trail! Live Music is available at countless venues as the area boasts some of the finest original and cover artists. Start your day at the eclectic breakfast guru, The Iron Whisk, with a unique breakfast cocktail and their famous dutch baby entrée. Head to Alto Pass, IL, for an easy hike on the historic Quetil trail. Stop at Rendleman Orchards for a step back into time on a working orchard farm and leave with a treat. Then quench that thirst with a free wine tasting and a discounted bottle of wine at The Peachbarn Winery & Café with your leashed Fido and enjoy a scrumptious lunch and live music. Continue up the road to gawk at the colossal view of the Forest seeing all the way to Missouri at the Bald Knob Cross attraction on the second highest point of Illinois. Swing by Alto Clay works and pick up a unique piece made by hand and fired in one of the country's few wood-fired kilns left. Grab dinner at VonJakob Vineyard or head back to the Cottage for a wood-fired pizza from That Pizza Place or top your night off with a cocktail at the famous dive bar, Fuzzy's, just 2 blocks away. There's something for everyone here in Southern Illinois!
