The Coach and Horses Information

Our pub, The Coach and Horses, is located in the historical Surrey town of Chertsey, within a stones throw of the remains of Chertsey Abbey. We are a traditional family run pub with cosy nooks and two real fires. We pride ourselves in offering a personal and friendly service, and you're guaranteed to be welcomed by a smiling face. As well as offering a comfy and quaint place to stay, you can also immerse yourself with the locals and enjoy our fine Fullers, award winning, Ales. Each of our rooms have a small en-suite with shower, sink and toilet. We have 2 single and 1 twin room. Access to our rooms is via and outside staircase, so you can come and go as you please. Please be aware the staircase may not be suitable for anyone who has trouble climbing stairs. There is a car park at the rear of the pub. Chertsey is a great spot for visiting a number of Surrey's attractions. Thorpe Park is a 10 minute walk away and Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland are within half an hour drive. The historic town of Windsor, home to her majesty our Queen is about a 20 minute drive. On the way to Windsor, why not stop off at the site of the signing of the Magna Carta. The River Thames is 15 minute walk away, where you can stroll along the banks to Staines or Shepperton. If you are feeling sporty Chertsey has a Sailing Club, a Wake Boarding Park and many fishing lakes. A 10 minute drive will take you to Walton, where you can hire a paddle board and take in the sites of the River Thames. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the centre of Chertsey, a 5 minute stroll away, with plenty of amenities in our local high street. If it's a simple, friendly place you're looking to stay, then look no further.

We will be celebrating 30 years at the Coach and Horses in 2021. We have enjoyed serving thousands of customers in that time and look forward to more in the future. Our customers are a friendly bunch and welcome newcomers. Many guests become regulars and return to socialise with friends they have made during their stay. Our staff are always friendly and only too willing to assist. They have a wealth of local knowledge about our town and the surrounding areas.

Booking Terms and Conditions

A car is not required when staying at the property
  • Train from Chertsey (0.5 miles)
Turn left out of train station and proceed to Guildford Street, (this is split into a couple of sections) but just keep going straight on. You will come to a T junction where you turn left, passing St. Peter's Church on your right. You will come across a playing field on your right and a sharp left-hand turn. You will see us from this corner, we are on the left.
  • Road from Junction 11 M25 (1.5 miles)
Leave Junction 11, heading towards Chertsey. If coming anticlockwise you will need to turn left at the motorway roundabout and if travelling clockwise, it's right. At the next roundabout turn left. Go straight on through the next set of traffic lights. You will come to a T junction after a short distance, with traffic lights, turn left here. Follow this road through the town, straight across a mini roundabout. After about 200 yards, you will see a green on your right and there is a sharp lefthand bend in the road. Once around the bend you will see us on the left. Car park is at the rear of the pub.
