Copps Castle is situated on a very quiet country lane, surrounded by fields, just North of Hartland village which is halfway between the old market town of Bideford and the Cornish beach resort of Bude. The property, a self build project completed in 1999, combines all the benefits of a modern home alongside traditional features such as an inglenook fireplace with wood burner, flagstone flooring on the ground floor, and bespoke soft furnishings throughout. All the bedrooms look out to the garden and open fields beyond. Breakfast is served at out large dining table, where guests can exchange tips on places to visit, and eat in the local area. Located within the Hartland Peninsula, a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are less than a mile from the rugged South West Coastal Path with its dramatic scenery and breathtaking views. We suggest guests visit nearby Hartland Quay to see the slate cliffs and unique rock formations rising above the breakers rolling in from the Atlantic. Hartland Point and Lighthouse is another local spot for impressive views of the rocky coastline and the base for the Lundy Island heliport during the winter months. The award winning Docton Mill Gardens & Tea Room along with Hartland Abbey & Gardens are only a short drive away. Hartland Abbey and the surrounding grounds have been used as set locations for Sense and Sensibility, The Night Manager, and the film Guernsey to be released in 2018. There are three village pubs, two small convenience stores, two potteries, a coffee shop, and gallery in Hartland village. Our local restaurant Pattard Kitchen is less than a mile away. The world famous village of Clovelly, with its meandering cobbled street leading to the harbour is a 4.5 mile drive, or for those keen walkers among you, take the coastal path. For those guests wishing to explore further the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor, Tapeley Park Gardens,Dartington Glass, & Arlington Court are also popular places of interest.
