The Dog and Gun Information

Description

The pub is a recently restored 17th century Coaching Inn at the heart of the Salisbury Plain and has been at the centre of the local community for many years. A warm welcome, cosy surroundings, fabulous food and cracking pints of beer. Comprehensively restored and rebuilt in recent years, this historic coaching inn reverberates with the sound of happy pub goers, diners and overnighters, oozing atmosphere with its wood burning stoves, exposed brickwork and flagstone floors. The approach we take is to do the basics as well as they can be done and to provide what every village should have – a good busy pub. Our food is quintessentially-British pub food and our menus seasonal. Wherever and whenever we can get our hands on local produce, we do; curating dishes that are reflective of both time and place. Alex and his team are here to make your time at the pub as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Let them look after you, have plenty to drink, and have a chat with the locals at the bar. You’re staying in a pub – not a restaurant – so let your hair down a little too.

The Dog and Gun is part of the Chickpea Group, a handful of pubs with rooms and pizza shops nestled in the South West. We’re a young and vibrant hospitality business and we care deeply about what we do. We want to provide guests with excellence on all fronts, and to make sure our guests leave feeling full and well looked after.
