Description

Mark and Grace, would like to offer you a warm welcome to Elim House, our aim is to assist in making your stay here in Bowness, a most enjoyable time. Built approximately 150 years ago from traditional Lakeland stone, Elim House is ideally situated in a quiet road, perfect for a peaceful break. Whether you want an energetic walk in the surrounding hills, a gentle stroll down to the lake and shops (5 minutes away) or a leisurely drive through spectacular scenery, Elim House is the perfect base, ideally located on the very edge of Bowness town centre. The warm and friendly welcome you will receive is complemented by individually heated and tastefully furnished en-suite rooms. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Elim House has a welcoming breakfast room where guests can choose from a comprehensive choice of menu. Vegetarians are well catered for and those with special dietary needs can also be accommodated (prior notice is requested). Catering for couples of all ages, single guests and motorcyclists are all welcome at Elim House. Secure storage is available for motorcycles and bikes. All of our en-suite rooms have a comfortable bed, tea/coffee supplies, hair dryers, heating, colour TV, USB charging points and armchairs.

Directions

  • Road from M6 Junction 36 (16.0 miles)
    Follow the A590/A591 to Windermere, turn left at the Windermere Hotel signposted Bowness. Go through Windermere village keeping on this road (B5074) then take the 3rd road on left after police station (Biskey Howe Road) Elim House is the 1st house on the left. There are no restrictions on parking on Biskey Howe Road. We have our own private parking which is on a 1st come 1st served basis.
  • Train from Windermere Station (1.1 miles)
    Turn left out of the station and keep to the left following the road through the village. Keep on this road (B5074) going downhill for about 1 mile, looking out for the police station on your left. Biskey Howe road is the 3rd road on the left past the police station. Elim House is the 1st house on the left.
  • Road from Ambleside (4.0 miles)
    Follow the A590 towards Windermere, go past the Lakes school (right hand side) and the Sun Inn (left hand side) and about a half mile further on turn right at the mini roundabout (signposted Bowness). Follow this road until you see the John Peel pub on your right then take the left fork at the mini roundabout. Go up the hill looking out for the cinema on the left, then take the 3rd road on the right (Biskey Howe Road). Elim House is the 1st house on the left.
  • Bus from Railway Station (1.1 miles)
    Please follow the directions as for the train as the bus station is at the same place as the train station.
