The Forge B&B Information


The Forge offers three double B&B rooms on the first floor of a beautiful turreted home. Two of the rooms are furnished with four poster beds and have en-suite bathrooms; the other room has a king sized divan bed with en-suite shower. A delicious full English or continental breakfast is served in an attractive room overlooking the front garden. The B&B is located with a minute's walk of The Chequers gastro pub which serves lunches and evening meals. A number of other good pubs and restaurants are to be found within short driving distance. The Forge is situated in the heart of the charming Cotswolds village of Churchill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty two miles south west of Chipping Norton, some 22 miles north west of Oxford. Staying at The Forge offers guests the chance to relax in a comfortable home and enjoy the delights of the Cotswolds.

The Forge was constructed as a family dwelling and village forge and does not regrettably offer any special facilities for those with disabilities or special needs.There is one car park immediately in front of The Forge with steps leading up to the front door; a second car park is to the right hand side of the property which is accessible via a gravel pathway and gate. Wheelchair access is not possible. The B&B rooms are all located on the first floor accessible via a straight flight of stairs with handrail. The rooms do not contain any special disability facilities.

  • Road from Burford (9.2 miles)
    Follow the A361 through Burford town to the signalled bridge across the River Windrush then turn right following the signs to Chipping Norton. The A361 passes through Shipton-under-Wynchwood; after 1 mile take a left turn on a road signposted to Kingham and Lyneham. Follow this road for 2.4 miles to a give way junction and turn right on to the B4450 to Churchill. Follow the road into Churchill past All Saints Church on the right and then look for The Forge sign on the right. Please park in the gravelled courtyard at the front or in one of the three B&B spaces to the right hand side. 
  • Road from Chipping Norton (2.8 miles)
    Follow the B4450 through Chipping Norton centre and look for the sign to Churchill B4450 which continues straight on. When arriving at Churchill look for the monument on the village green on the left hand side after which you will find The Forge B&B on the left, diagonally opposite The Chequers pub. Guests may park in the gravelled courtyard at the front of The Forge or in one of the three B&B parking spaces on the far side.
  • Train from Kingham Station (2.2 miles)
    If arriving by train guests are advised to book a local taxi to Churchill village, which is located two miles away, in advance. There is no bus service which goes directly to Churchill at present.
