Description

Local attractions & amenities such as Hampden Park, The Hydro, the SECC, take-aways and food stores are all close by. The city centre is only 2miles away & can be easily accessed by bus, train or car. The nearest train station is Crosshill station(a 100 metre walk away from our premises) which is only 3 stops( a 10 minute ride) from the city centre. Trains run every 15 minutes. Our property is fully centrally heated with a newly installed system allowing guests to control the temperature in their room at all times. We offer the use of a fully equipped, communal kitchen which can be used for free, for all cooking and laundry requirements (including fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, toaster ,all cutlery, crockery and cooking implements etc. etc. Most of our single/double rooms have super king size, zip and link beds which are very spacious. Glasgow and all the surrounding areas can be easily accessed within 20 minutes from Glades House. Glades House aims to provide quality and affordable accommodation to encourage guests to make us the first choice for a return visit to Glasgow.

  • Road from Glasgow Airport (10.0 miles)

    Follow signs from the airport to join the M8 motorway towards Glasgow city centre.

    Continue on M8 and at Junction 21 keep in left-hand lane then join M8 spur (signposted Carlisle.)

    Then join M74 and follow signs to Carlisle.
    On the M74 ,exit at Junction 1A(signposted Polmadie)
    Turn right at the traffic lights at the end of the slip road.
    Go straight on and turn right at the first set of traffic lights onto Calder street.
    Go straight on through 2 sets of traffic lights and turn left at third set.
    Then take third left at Crosshill railway station onto Albert Road (cul-de-saq)
    We are on the right of Albert Road number 142 (100m away)
    This journey should only take 15/20 minutes

  • Bus from Glasgow Airport (10.0 miles)
    Exit the main airport terminal and walk to bus stance 1. Take the number 500 Airport Express bus to Glasgow city centre(15 minute journey)(£14 for a return adult ticket). Disembark the bus at Bothwell street at Hope street. Walk 2 minutes to Glasgow Central Train station. Take a train to Crosshill station(trains run very 15 minutes and take only 10 minutes)(they stop running at around 1130pm but please check as this time varies)(around £2/3 for a return ticket).Exit Crosshill station and cross the main road directly in front of you. Walk 100metres down Albert road to number 142.
  • Train from Glasgow City Centre (1.5 miles)
    From Glasgow Central station, take a train to Crosshill station(usually the third stop)(it only takes 10 minutes)(the trains run every 15 minutes and the last train is around 2330 but check all these details as they can vary).It costs around £2/3 for a ticket. Exit Crosshill station and cross the main road directly in front of you. Walk 100metres down Albert road to number 142.
  • Road from Glasgow City Centre (1.5 miles)

    Put G42 8UF into a satnav and we are number 142.

    Alternatively, take a private hire taxi Glasgo cabs (0141-6497777).

    Your final option is to travel south from the centre on the A77 for around 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Allison street. Then, travel along Allison street and turn right onto Cathcart road and Albert road is the 2nd left. We are number 142.

    This journey should only take 15 minutes.

  • Road from Edinburgh Airport (48.0 miles)
    From Edinburgh airport, follow signs for M8 to Glasgow. and join the motorway.
    Continue on M8 to Glasgow and leave it at junction 15 (signposted Glasgow Cross)
    Continue to follow signs for Glasgow Cross
    Stay on this road after you pass Glasgow Cross (large clock tower in the centre of a busy junction) going straight on.
    Follow this road over the river Clyde and staright through all traffic lights until you reach Crosshill railway station on your right.
    Turn left at Crosshill railway station onto Albert Road (cul-de-saq)
    We are on the right of Albert Road number 142 (100m away).
    Total distance after leaving motorway is approx. 2 miles.

  • Road from Edinburgh city centre (50.0 miles)
    Take a train from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen street station(50 minute journey). Walk 10 minutes or take a short taxi ride to Glasgow Central station. From Glasgow Central station, take a train to Crosshill station(usually the third stop)(it only takes 10 minutes)(the trains run every 15 minutes and the last train is around 2330 but check all these details as they can vary).It costs around £2/3 for a ticket. Exit Crosshill station and cross the main road directly in front of you. Walk 100metres down Albert road to number 142.
  • Road from M74 northbound from Hamilton (14.0 miles)
    Continue on M74 until Junction 1A(signposted Polmadie).Exit here.
    Turn left at the traffic lights at the end of the slip road.
    Go straight on and turn right at the first set of traffic lights onto Calder street.
    Go straight on through 2 sets of traffic lights and turn left at third set.
    Then take third left at Crosshill railway station onto Albert Road (cul-de-saq)
    We are on the right of Albert Road number 142 (100m away).
  • Road from M77 North bound from Hamilton(20 minutes) (10.0 miles)
    Continue on M77 and branch left onto M8(signposted Tradeston A8).
    Then follow signs for M74(signposted Carlsile)
    On the M74, exit at Junction 1A (signposted Polmadie)
    Turn right at the traffic lights at the end of the slip road.
    Go staright on through the very first traffic lights and turn right at the next set onto Calder Street.
    Go straight on through 2 sets of traffic lights and turn left at third set.
    Then take third left at Crosshill railway station onto Albert Road (cul-de-saq)
    We are on the right of Albert Road number 142 (100m away).
  • Road from M8 Eastbound from Paisley (8.0 miles)
    Continue on M8 and at Junction 21 keep in left-hand lane then join M8 spur (signposted Carlisle.)
    Then join M74 and follow signs to Carlisle.
    On the M74 ,exit at Junction 1A(signposted Polmadie)
    Turn right at the traffic lights at the end of the slip road.

    Continue on M8 and leave it at junction 15 (signposted Glasgow Cross)
    Continue to follow signs for Glasgow Cross
    Stay on this road after you pass Glasgow Cross (large clock tower in the centre of a busy junction) going straight on.
    Follow this road over the river Clyde and staright through all traffic lights until you reach Crosshill railway station on your right.
    Turn left at Crosshill railway station onto Albert Road (cul-de-saq)
