Great Trethew Manor Hotel & Restaurant Information
Description
Character Country House set in the heart of the Cornish countryside with 40 acres of gardens, woodlands and lakes to explore. New this year we have a lovely campsite to offer everyone as well, along with shower and toilet block and electric hook ups The property has been completely renovated in its traditional style but with all modern facilities. Offering a bar and restaurant with flag stone flooring, beamed ceilings and open log fires. Our chefs pride themselves in home cooking with a flare. Our 12 exclusive bedrooms are furnished with antique gems from all over the world, from four poster beds, to sideboards. All our rooms are tastefully decorated and include ensuite shower or bathrooms depending on the room you book. Our star room being room 2 has a lovely large room with balcony overlooking the front gardens of the hotel as well as a antique four poster bed. The grounds are a complete gem for everyone to explore together with the free roaming peacocks and peahens and if we are lucky enough peachicks surprise us in the summer months. We have approx 25 acres of woodlands to explore with a lovely walk down to our trout lake. To the right of the hotel you will find a riding school. Within the grounds we are able to offer weddings, functions and parties and adjoining the hotel is a rose garden with garden bar. The riding school is run seperately to the hotel but offer woodland hacks and pony clubs to all guests. Please enquire with them for bookings. The hotel has plenty of parking.
The property has a great friendly feel and we welcome everyone into our hotel as if at home. The property has undergone a huge renovation build due to a fire 6 years ago. At the time before the fire not only was it a hotel it was also our home. The fire completely gutted the entire 3 floor building leaving only the 4 outside walls. The battle of the rebuild took 6 long years and now we have an impressive 12 bedroom country hotel to offer you. The hotel has been rebuilt at the highest of standards but we have brought back the character of the old building. A lot of the beams and wood throughout the property has been milled on site. No corners have been missed and the furniture and antiques have been sourced all over the Country and even the bar being brought over from France and fire surrounds from Ireland all being a perfect match of the ones lost in the fire. The grounds bring the hotel to life it is a quiet secluded area though only 1 mile from the A38 no sound is heard from any traffic. We have lovely walks down to the lake, and guests are welcome to wonder over and see the ponies and horses at any times.
