Gutchpool B&B Information

Description

A charming and comfortable B&B in a private wing of a restored farmhouse in rural Dorset. Carefully furnished, with 3 large bedrooms, modern private shower rooms and a spacious guest sitting room with wood-burner for winter nights. In summer enjoy a sunny terrace or an enclosed private garden. The property sits within its own land, by a river and away from any roads. All the bedrooms have lovely views over the farm, orchard and river or the courtyard garden. While the farm is secluded, it is not isolated, and there is much to do and see in the area, with a good choice of excellent places to eat nearby. The famous National Trust run 18thC landscaped gardens of Stourhead are only 10 minutes away and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge only 30 minutes away.

Bill and Rachel Hall welcome you to Gutchpool, where they have lived for the last 14 years since moving from Oxford. Bill runs the family business from the barns, which makes environmental monitors for museums and art galleries, he is also a keen pilot, and has flown his single engine aircraft all over the world. Rachel has slowly renovated the house, made a garden, created a wildflower meadow and planted numerous trees, including an orchard with predominantly old West Country apple varieties. She now runs the stables and the farm, and is building up a small flock of Dorset Down sheep. When time allows she also paints, writes and sews.
