Description

Guyscliffe farm is set up high above Combe Martin over looking the Exmoor hills and Combe Martin bay. GCF is secluded but not remote, the house on the hill with extensive land and woodland surrounding the main house with a great Bar-B-Que area log burner with a sea view. The apartment is cosy and convenient with great facilities with modern en-suite shower rooms and its own kitchenette. The caravan is a luxury 4 berth 4ft wide 6ft long DB bed and shower en-suite, with a full size fridge & a small freezer it has modern fixtures and fittings. GCF is quiet, tranquil and restful, plenty of scope to take in the wildlife. We also have stables if our visitors wished to bring their horse(s). The apartment is on the ground floor it offers accommodation for two adults. The living room has a settee folds out to a 4 ft bed. GCF provides the perfect location for exploring the delights of North Devon, with its beaches within short drive of each direction, Combe Martin Bay 5 minutes drive down the road., also the Wildlife & Dinosaur Park. You can hear the lions, wolves & monkeys when the wind is in the right direction. There are lots to do at Guyscliffe Farm, Ilfracombe has and aquarium in the harbour, Verity Statue is 63 ft high so you can't miss her. Worth a look, not to everyone's taste. Tunnels Beach, Victorian natural bathing pools which top up with water at high tide. Full of marine life & warmer than the sea, golf course and boat trips. Valley of the Rocks:- Large steep natural valley with rock pinnacles carved out during the ice age. Famous for its wild goats. Walks & tearooms. Arlington Court National Trust House with gardens & Stage Coach Museum. Bicycle hire in Braunton & Barnstaple. Watermouth Castle. Cliff Railway:- Victorian Water powered railway which links villages of Lynton & Lynmouth. Lundy Island is a 3 mile long rocky island. A marine for seabirds, seals, porpoises dolphins & sea-life. Boats such as the Oldenburg sail regularly from Ilfracombe.

Directions

  • Road from M5 Junction 27 (45.0 miles)

    From the M5 motor way southbound take junction 27,  take the 2nd exit onto A361 sign posted Barnstable / Tiverton for 6.5 miles


    At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on the A361 for a further 19.1 miles.


    At the roundabout take the 4th exit on to the A399 for 16 miles. Please be cautious as this road is windy.


    Nearly there, you will pass the dinosaur/ wildlife park on your left eventually into Combe martin high street you will come to a petrol station (central supplies). 


    From this point your sat nav may try to take you left down a steep track (Kiln lane) ignore this and carry on the main road, your sat nav will correct itself. Just approx 1/2 mile you will then turn left onto Church Lane.

    Follow this road up past the church on your right for approximately 1 mile up the windy road merging into Rectory road look out for the boat on your right.

    Turn right and carry on up the drive, stay in a low gear, the drive is windy for a short period. 10 MPH 

    Drive past the barn and arrive at the sign posting for parking at the top, reception is sign posted at the steps, see you there.

    You may approach us from the other direction "over the top". This will bring you down Rectory Road and we will be on your left hand side not long after the sign welcoming you to Combe Martin, look out for the boat at the entrance.

    The nearest train station is Barnstaple. From Barnstaple there is a bus (number 301) that comes to Combe Martin. See traveldevon.info for further information
