Holbecks House B&B Information

Description

Up the drive through parkland studded with ancient trees and step into the flag stoned hall of our 18th–century house. Find gracious rooms, soft colours, Persian rugs, antiques, hunting prints and books to browse. Perry is delightful and looks after you well; settle into big peaceful bedrooms with good beds, chocolates and long rural views. Just beyond the market town of Hadleigh, the house snoozes on a hill with acres of garden, orchard, croquet lawn, rose walk and pond. Explore Constable Country, visit the Munnings Art Museum in Dedham, Gainsborough House in Sudbury and the cathedral city of Bury St Edmunds. Holbecks House has 3 double bedrooms. We also have two self catering holiday lets, The Gardener's Cottage and the Garden Flat.

Accessibility

Not suitable for guests with mobility issues. Stairs to the front door of the property and all bedrooms on first floor.

Directions

  • Road from Ipswich (10.4 miles)

Ipswich Take London Rd/A1214 and A1071 to Hadleigh High Street. From the High Street, turn into Duke Street signposted to Lower Layham and The Riverside Walk. After ¼ mile turn right immediately after going over the bridge by the Riverside Walk Car Park. Take the track up the hill (leaving the river behind you). The entrance to the drive for Holbecks House is on your left after about 200 yards. Go over the cattle grid and take the private drive through the parkland, over another cattle grid to the house at the top of the hill. Please park at the side of the house by the covered portico.

Please ring both door bells. If you do not receive a reply, please call my mobile 07875 167 771 as I may be out of earshot of the front door bell.

If you are relying on SatNav please be aware that some devices direct visitors via the back drive rather than the front drive. If coming down the back drive, take the left hand fork and park at the side of the house as above.
