Lodgepole Gallery Information
Description
Lodgepole Gallery is located two miles west of Browning, Montana, on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, where prairie and Rocky Mountains meet bordering Glacier National Park. Also available are two cabins for rent. Each cabin has a queen size bed as well as a full-sized sleep sofa. The cabins can accommodate up to 4 guests and are tastefully decorated with Native American blankets, carpets and Blackfoot art. There is also a small patio where guests can sit outside. The cabins are heated, and have a private shower and toilet facility just outside. You will have a view of a prairie pothole lake and Rocky Mountains from the cabin-window or patio. And because these cabin rentals are so close to Glacier National Park, you have access to scenic drives, hiking, wildlife viewing and more. Imagine the feeling you will have renting a cabin in spots where the Blackfeet have lived in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains for centuries! On our large partially enclosed patio which features a fridge, coffee machine, microwave, and seating area you can safely socialize. Down the hill in the arbor / picnic area - a wooden wind shelter built in the form of a traditional Blackfeet ceremonial lodge - is a fire-place for grilling with benches and tables.
Lodgepole Gallery was founded by Blackfeet artist and historian Darrell Norman in 1993. The gallery has featured local art, mainly Blackfeet. Until the summer season 2019 we provided overnight stay in a traditional tipi village as well. However, from 2021 on we offer overstays in cabins decorated in Native American style to follow our mission to promote the local arts.
