Lee Byre Information

Description

We are an award-winning bed and breakfast on the fringes of Devon and Cornwall - perfect for exploring the length and breadth of the South West! We offer a premium bed and breakfast escape, as well as a range of unique extra experiences that our guests may choose to enjoy. You will find us on the side of a hill, half way along an old bumpy farm and mining track, with woodland and trails behind us, a river and farmland in front. It’s a peaceful and tranquil spot, with plenty of nature and The Great Outdoors right outside your bedroom door! The buildings are a collection of converted barns and animal stalls; for 300 years Lee Byre was used as a livestock and dairy farm, before it fell into disrepair in 1970s. Lovingly restored by John Barnes over 7 years, it has retained its character and heritage. Benefits of our remote location include our own source of fresh spring water. This spring water is filtered by the woodland behind us and supplies all the rooms with beautifully crisp and clear water. We also burn sustainable fuel in the form of wood pellets for our heating. We're happy to accommodate children older than 10 years old.

Directions

  • Road from Exeter (40.0 miles)

GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 50.63255258223226, Longitude: -4.20306108891964

Unfortunately the Satellite Navigation will only take you as far as Station House. The best way to find us is by using googlemaps.com; we are correctly listed and it will save you exploring unnecessary lanes, of which there are many around us! You will need to load googlemaps before you enter our valley because reception and data signals are not the best.

The last 500 metres of your journey is up an old farm and mining track. It’s still used by tractors and cows alike, so it’s bumpy. At times, it is muddy. But it is totally authentic! We do make regular efforts to fill in the bumps, it is suitable for all car types, except extra-low cars. Any questions or concerns please get in touch.

Have a safe trip - we‘re looking forward to see you!
