Navas Nook Information

Downstairs the living area is open-plan, which makes it a great space for entertaining. There are two sofas for you to unwind on, a wooden dining table which seats 6 for everyone to gather round and the kitchen boasts an electric Aga and butler sink to complete the full cottagey feel. (Plus there are the usual appliances; microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine.) Also on the ground floor is a separate utility room which has a washing machine, sink and a wet room with W/C. Upstairs the first and second bedrooms have great views down the creek, and can either be set up as two single beds or together as super king. The third bedroom has a king size bed. The bathroom is equipped with a heated towel rail and is the perfect space for a long soak in the tub. Outside you'll find an enclosed garden to the front of the property where you can sit and watch the world go by, and to the rear is a more secluded terraced garden with creek views. You can access the back garden from the first floor of the property and up a few steps. On the terrace is a bespoke summer house, the ‘Captain’s cabin’, ideal for a little peace and quiet, a good book, a glass of wine and... little cheeky snooze maybe?

Ahoy there! We are Kurt & Lucy, and we are very proud to say that we own Navas Nook. As a couple we met in 1993, married in 2003 and bought the cottage in 2018. We're both from Cornwall. Lucy hails from Mullion, and Kurt from Porthleven. For most of our married lives we have been running our own ethical childrenswear company, and raising our two boys. We love Port Navas and live just up the road, in Constantine, with our 2 horses, 5 chickens, dog, cat and Lucy's mum in her annex (Named the 'Nannex' by our boys, as she's 'Nannie' to them). As well as looking after animals, teenagers and Lucy's mum we are often to be found out on the Helford Kayaking, swimming or sailing our boat which we keep in Port Navas creek. Throughout our working lives we've both believed in the phrase, 'informal professionalism'. As such we like to think of ourselves as pretty easy going, friendly people who like to do things 'well'. Navas Nook is a delightful cottage, in a delightful spot. You'll love it. All the best K&L

Booking Terms and Conditions

The cottage is on two floors and has stairs to the bedrooms, which are all on the first floor. There is a shower room, and W/C, on the ground floor. The rear garden is steeply terraced, and small children will need supervision.

A car is recommended when staying at the property
  • Road from A30 Carland cross (30.0 miles)
The Cottage, Port Navas, Constantine TR11 5RJ
    • Follow the A30 into Cornwall and at Carland Cross (by the huge windmills), turn left onto the A39 signed to Truro and Falmouth
    • Continue on this road through Truro and towards Falmouth (always following the signs for A39 Falmouth)
    • When you reach the roundabout that shows Penryn and Falmouth University to the left and Helston to the right, take the third exit, through Mabe village – straight across at the little roundabout past the pub. Follow that road, past Argyll reservoir and up to a T junction. Turn right and follow the road for approx. ¼ mile and take the left turn towards Constantine. Follow this for approx. 2 miles until you reach a turning left for Port Navas. Take this road for approx. 1.5 miles and when you get to the village, you will see Navas Nook (aka The Cottage) on your left opposite the village hall and public slipway.

There is private parking for one car opposite the cottage, you'll see a rope across the space with a garage behind with wooden doors. It is to the left hand side of the village hall, if you have your back to the cottage. If you could reverse in and park to the side of the garage doors that would be great, as we do sometimes need access to the garage as it is our boat house! You'll find additional parking on road spaces in the village.
