Oxfordbnb Information

Description

Oxfordbnb continues to offer comfortable and enjoyable stays operating within the requirements of the ‘New Normal’. Our B&B (which is completely separate from our family space) has a maximum of 4 guest rooms. Business persons, academics and tourists have been staying with us for over 10 years. Our plan is to offer low occupancy or group/family bookings. Our ‘online’ availability may not reflect the rooms we have available. Up to 6 guests can stay at any one time. Our ‘Continental Breakfast’, will be served to your table. By mutual agreement we will limit the number of guests in the breakfast room, with tables spaced accordingly. If self-isolation becomes necessary Government guidance now allows you to take a test and return home ‘if you reasonably can’. Guests from abroad; sorry we do not offer quarantine stays (14 days) at the B&B. Please ensure your country is on the 'exempt list' from quarantine requirements prior to booking/staying. We offer well-presented bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms. We are available to help with local information if needed. The breakfast room, by arrangement, can also be used at other times to enjoy your own ready meals, as can the use of a microwave, fridge & washing machine/tumble dryer. We are located, near but not on a main road, 2.5 miles south of Oxford city centre, set in an urban environment but within minutes of the historic Bagley Wood and the iconic River Thames. There is a regular bus service to and from Oxford (only 15 minutes). Off street parking is available. We are only a short distance from the River Thames and a pleasant walk to the centre of Oxford. The village pub is within 5 minutes of our B&B, there is also nearby a Fish & Chip take-away, Indian restaurant, Chinese take-away, 2 village shops, a post office, doctor’s surgery, a chemist, & a launderette.

At the A34 Hinksey Hill intersection (Oxford Ring Road) take the exit signposted Ring Road, London. Almost immediately take the next left turn onto Old Abingdon Road (100m) signposted Kennington, then next right onto Kennington Road (200m). As you enter Kennington at the mini-roundabout turn right onto Upper Road. Go to the end of Upper Road (cul-de-sac).We are the last property on the right (no 214). If you use GPS/SatNav, our post code is OX1 5LR/Upper Road. Go to the end of Upper Road.
  • Bus from Central Oxford (2.7 miles)

Take the bus (no 35 - running approximately every 20 minutes) from St Aldate’s Street (in front of Christ Church College) - destination Kennington (Abingdon). Our bus stop in Kennington is Bagley Wood Road after the village pub. We are 3 minutes’ walk from the bus stop – leave the bus, cross the road, walk up Bagley Wood Road (off the mini roundabout), after about 150m take the footpath on the right; we are immediately on the left.

The bus service back to Oxford (running every 20 minutes) is the reverse of the above except it will stop at Westgate Shopping Centre.
