Description
The Riverwalk Inn is located in beautiful downtown Chelan, just across the street from the Riverwalk Park. The inn is just steps away from the lake, many local shops, restaurants, bars and activities. We pride ourselves on offering clean, comfortable rooms at competitive rates. Our goal is to make your stay the best it can possibly be are we are happy to assist in anyway possible. We are also family and pet friendly. We have rooms that can accommodate from 1 up to 5 guests. Our single queen rooms offer a mini fridge and kettle, our double queen rooms offer a mini fridge, kettle and microwave. Many of our rooms are easily wheelchair accessible and convenient to parking. We have a seasonal cafe on-site, offering up healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options as well as handmade bread and pastries, coffee, fresh squeezed juices and local beer and wine. Enjoy a wholesome meal just steps away from your room or grab a cup of coffee and take a walk around the park.
The Riverwalk Inn was built in 1918. History shows that the building has most likely always been a lodging facility. During the time that it was built, the mining operation taking place up lake was in full swing, and it is assumed that the Riverwalk Inn was built as lodging to support those involved. During the 1950’s and 60’s, the Gordon family owned and ran the building as a motel. At some point after that, it was purchased and run as the “Travelers Inn” until it was sold to Mike Sherer in 2001. Mike immediately went to work renovating all three buildings, and adding a commercial kitchen and a café area. He spent three years working tirelessly on the three buildings, completely ripping out and rebuilding the two side buildings. In 2011, Kate and two friends leased the building from Mike and added the restaurant, now open to the public. In 2013 Kate, Mandi and Blaze decided to buy the building and expand the breakfast menu, continuing to run the hotel, and updating things when possible. In the spring of 2020, Robbie and Cragg Courtney with daughter Clancy Courtney and niece Mistaya Johnston and husband, took over the Riverwalk Inn and Cafe from Kate, Mandi and Blaze.
