Old Rose and Crown Hotel Information

The hotel now boasts 11 en-suite guest rooms with facilities including colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities. The rooms are individually decorated - and many enjoy spectacular views over the Lickey Hills. Whilst there is no restaurant in the hotel, there are various local eateries just a short walk away, including two pubs, a Cantonese restaurant, fish and chip shop, and Thai takeaway. There are also two popular gastro pubs along with an Indian restaurant just a few minutes' drive away. The hotel is adjacent to the Lickey Hills Golf Course -recognised as one of the best municipal courses in the midlands. There are also tennis courts (currently undergoing refurbishment) which are free to use, and for the children, a tri-golf course is available – all a short walk from the hotels door! Add to that miles of walking, running and cycling tracks, including along the North Worcestershire path, and you will see we are a great choice for an active break away– and if you want your dog to enjoy this with you, we offer a dog-friendly bedroom too! Our location is also superb for family breaks in Birmingham, with many attractions within easy reach. Our family rooms make a great base for a trip to Cadbury World or the many sights in the city, such as the Library, Sea Life centre and Think Tank Science museum – perfect for enquiring minds! And for adults, Birmingham offers a wealth of entertainment, from galleries, to cinemas to theatre & ballet, or cultural trips, including the Peaky Blinders tour hosted by BrumTours. For food lovers, Birmingham is home of the Balti, and you will be spoilt for choice in the Balti Triangle based around Ladypool Road. And if curry is not your thing, then you will find every other possible option, from popular chains, to Michelin starred fine dining. We offer 11 ensuite bedrooms with level entry showers, all of which are on the first floor. There is no lift to the first floor, but the staircase is wide and substantial with a solid hand rail on both sides. To the front of the hotel the surface is level, and there is a small (102mm/4 inch) step up to the front door. There grab rails on either side, though it would only be possible to use one of these as they are too far apart to use simultaneously. Alternatively, we have a portable ramp or a level access at the side of the hotel. The front door is permanently open, and an internal door will be closed. The front door is well lit at night by a motion sensor light.
