Directions

  • Road from Lanark (1.0 miles)
Rosemount Boutique B&B is situated on the Westport, the ancient gateway to Lanark from the West. The property can be found opposite the Police Scotland station, set back from the Westport, and is accessible via a private drive through the gap in the railings of the pedestrian crossing. Drive up to the courtyard between the two buildings and check in to the Coach House on your left. The accommodation is in a bespoke building at the rear of the property and is entirely separate from the main residence.
  • Road from Glasgow / The West (25.0 miles)
If traveling from the West (i.e. from Glasgow/Clyde Valley/Carluke), Rosemount is on the Westport (A73) and is on your left-hand side approximately 300m beyond the Gulf petrol station. A good marker is the Police Scotland station on the right-hand side, Rosemount is directly opposite this building.
  • Road from Edinburgh / The South (30.0 miles)
If traveling from the South or East (ie Borders or Edinburgh), follow signs for Glasgow/A73/A72. Once past St Nicholas Church at the bottom of the High Street, proceed 100m beyond the intersection of the A73/A706, and Rosemount is 10m beyond the pedestrian crossing/traffic lights on the right-hand side. A good marker is the Police Scotland station on the left-hand side of the road, Rosemount is directly opposite this building. If you go beyond the entrance, proceed to the Gulf petrol station and use the forecourt to make a U-turn.
  • Train from Glasgow (28.0 miles)
There is a twice hourly train service from Glasgow Central Station. From Lanark train station, it is a 10min walk to Westport and Rosemount Boutique B&B, via Lanark's High Street. Alternatively, there are always taxis available at the station. Expect to pay around 5 GBP for the taxi fare.
  • Train from Edinburgh (30.0 miles)
There is a limited train service to Lanark from Edinburgh. There are two alternatives to choose, neither are direct. You can take the train to Carstairs Junction (on the Edinburgh to Ayr or Edinburgh to Glasgow services) and then take a taxi to Lanark (approximately 12 GBP) or, you can continue to and change at Carluke. We suggest that you use the free Scotrail app to plan these journeys.
  • Road from The North (1.0 miles)

If you are traveling from the North and enter Lanark on the A706, proceed to the end of this road and turn right onto Bloomgate/A73 (Glasgow/Carluke). Proceed 100m to the pedestrian crossing, Rosemount is 10m beyond the crossing, on the right-hand side via the private drive. A good marker is the Police Scotland station sign on the left, Rosemount access is directly opposite this sign. If you go beyond this turn, proceed to the Gulf petrol station and use the forecourt to turn back.
