We have three tastefully decorated bedrooms offering bed and breakfast accommodation. The location is perfect for those wishing to visit Durham City and the surrounding areas. Durham a World Heritage Site has a Castle and Cathedral which is a must to explore. A University City, Durham has many historical places of interest also many restaurants and bars. For many centuries, Durham was a virtually independent state ruled by the Prince Bishops not the Crown. The Prince Bishops were more or less the “Kings of County Durham”. This is why Durham is now known as the “Land of the Prince Bishops” You can cruise on the river with the Prince Bishops Riverboat, or take out a rowing boat yourself, both available for hire. Situated about 12 miles from Durham is the Award winning Beamish open air Museum, bringing history back to life, a fascinating visit. All nearby:- Golf Clubs are at Ramside Hall, Durham City Golf Club and at Brancepath Castle. For Cricket enthusiasts Durham City Cricket Club at Chester-le-Street Cricket ground is nearby. Newcastle and Sunderland host football stadiums, which also have fantastic shopping facilities. Gateshead near Newcastle has the renowned Metro Shopping Centre, also well worth a visit is Anthony Gormley’s “Angel of the North” also situated in Gateshead.
