The Art Lounge Information

Description

The Art Lounge is in a Grand Georgian country property, fortunate to command a wonderful position overlooking the village of Branthwaite and views beyond to the Western fells of the Lake District. Gerry and Eileen Watson acquired the property to create a fine quality Boutique accommodation located on the fringe of the English Lakes National Park (a UNESCO world Heritage site), ideally situated near the Western Lakes of Ennerdale, Buttermere and Loweswater, or the Solway coast. They have created a truly unique venue with very individual rooms and a setting of escape, luxury and relaxation with an artistic twist. Each guest room is named after a famous artist and based on their style or era of their paintings. There is an in house Art Gallery with fabulous local original art for sale and beautiful art featured throughout the property for guests to enjoy, a destination escape for the walker, cyclist or culture vulture. The location between coast and lakes provides scope for a wealth of out door activities, 20 minutes to Whinlatter forest park and visitor centre and 25 minutes to Keswick via Bassenthwaite lake. The Western Lake district captures the highest mountain and the deepest lake, but also some award wining stretches of Solway coast and beaches. The Art Lounge is on many popular cycle routes and provides guests with lock up cycle facilities and on-site guest laundry, ideal for the many events held throughout the year. The property lies close enough to leave your car and enjoy walks straight into the western fells and The Art Lounge are happy to provide you with packed lunches and picnics. There are also frequent creative workshops run in the gallery for a leisurely break exploring your artistic side, teaching Calligraphy, water colour painting and Botanical painting and more. Or you could just relax and enjoy a fabulous afternoon tea in the elegant dining room or beautiful gardens

Gerry comes from a Professional Financial background and Eileen from Design and Project Management. They have injected many years of property renovation and interior design experience into the venue. They have enjoyed gathering architectural, design, cultural and culinary influences while travelling, all the while forming their ideal picture of hospitality. Both also being accomplished artists and cooks, now seizing the opportunity to put this extensive experience to use, they have created a truly unique venue. With the sole aim of making your holiday break a memorable luxury and welcome experience. Wanting you to kick back and enjoy the unique venue and its peaceful location. You can stay in the heart of the main house or chose the more secluded option of the Coach house suite with your own private patio and hot tub. Breakfasts are available in the elegant dining room or delivered to your luxury rooms for an extra level of privacy and relaxation.
