The Bailey Holidays Information

The Bailey is a holiday destination consisting of a quirky Shepherd’s Hut, dog-friendly Holiday Cottage and a boutique Bed and Breakfast in Skipton, North Yorkshire. The 300 year old house contains the 2 beautiful boutique BnB rooms whilst the old dairy is now a self contained holiday cottage. At the far end of a beautiful landscaped garden is our quirky Shepherd's Hut. We have recently been given a Guest Review Award by Booking.com for achieving an average score of 9.8 out of 10. All our accommodation types come with free parking, all bedding and towels included and free WiFi. Whilst check in is from 15:00 and check out is by 10:00, guests are welcome to park from 12:00 noon and remain parked until 12:00 noon on the day of departure.

As can be seen from our wonderful reviews and awards, we are all about making our guests feel special. The Bailey offers secluded perfection but in the heart of this wonderful market town, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and officially the happiest place to live in the UK. Mark has spent 30 years in Corporate Banking – but decided that the trouble with the rat race is that even if you win the race, you are still a rat. He always dreamt of running a holiday business and decided enough was enough. When bankers became the new traffic wardens it was time for a change. Mark is the lead cellist with Leeds Symphony Orchestra and plays cornet in Otley and Skipton Brass Bands. He is a keen fell runner and cyclist. Kay is a practising physiotherapist dividing her time between paediatric patients and her true love, veterinary physio. She qualified with a masters in veterinary physio this year and has launched a new business in Skipton – The Dog Physio.

  • Road from Skipton (0.01 miles)

From the market square in the middle of Skipton, head up The Bailey, past the castle gatehouse and up the castle wall (if on foot).  We are the first property on the right after the sheep field.  Parking is at the rear of the property (turn in by the garage with a black door and white window frames) then come to the large red front door (Number 3, The Bailey).
