Sitting in the quaint village of Tarland in the heart of The Howe O' Cromar on Royal Deeside you will find a hidden gem - The Commercial Hotel. A former 18th century coaching inn The Commercial offers the perfect place to take a break and indulge yourself whilst enjoying an area of outstanding natural beauty. After being lovingly restored by Bev and Chris Hughes the hotel now offers guests a warm welcome and gracious style along with every modern comfort. The Commercial's Cromar Restaurant & bar boasts a reputation for fine food served in elegant, comfortable surroundings by friendly staff - a place which takes pride in delivering fresh, locally produced food and excellent service makes. The Commercial is a popular venue for locals and visitors alike. At the end of the day's activities sample one of our regular beers or guest ale in the informal surroundings of the public bar, with it's original fireplace and granite stone walls the traditional décor makes it a great place to unwind with the friendly locals or enjoy a game of pool or darts. The cosy lounge bar is tastefully decorated, and is perfect for a relaxing drink by the log fire, or why not wind down on a warm summers day in the courtyard beer garden. Whatever your requirements The Commercial promises you a warm welcome with friendly, courteous staff and 'can-do' service as you want it.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer ground floor rooms for guests with mobility issues. All ground floor public areas are fully accessible.

Directions

  • Road from M9 (60.0 miles)
    Merge onto M9, At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A9 heading to Perth go through 2 roundabouts, exit onto B8063/Main Rd toward Luncarty/Stanley/B9099 continue to follow Main Rd. Continue onto B9099. Turn right at A93/High St continue to follow A93. Turn left at The Square Destination will be on the right.
  • Road from Aberdeen (30.0 miles)
    From Aberdeen follow the A93 tourist route to Braemar and Perth. On entering Aboyne pass the village green on your left, then look for the turning to Tarland on the right. Follow the directional signs into Tarland and on reaching the square turn left. The hotel is situated by the monument at the end of the square.
