The Iris Garden Downtown Cottages and Suites Information


LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION......Nestled in the heart of the village of Nashville Indiana, The Iris Garden is perfectly situated to give its guests a wonderful vacation getaway. Simply stroll right out of your door into the heart of the excellent shops, restaurants and playhouses of "Lil' Nashville". When we say "middle of the village", we mean it. You will be withing a 5 minute walk of nine restaurants You won't have to worry about driving unless you want to visit the multitude of fun places that are only minutes away by car, including concerts at the world class Brown County Music Center and the Brown County State Park with it's beautiful hiking and nationally ranked Mountain Bike Trails.

Your Hosts at the Iris Garden are Matt and Amy Gray. They are the epitome of the privately owned and operated lodging establishment. The business phones are forwarded to their cell phones every night "just in case one of the Guests happens to need something after hours. Matt and Amy moved with their children, Josie and Tanner, from Pensacola Florida to Brown County in 1993 and have all been in love with it every since. They joke "We believe that Southern Hospitality feels right at home in Southern Indiana!" When asked what they enjoy the most about their business, they (without hesitation) say "It's our Guests! We have the best job in the world. We get to make new friends every day and we are so very humbled that they come again and again with their smiling faces to stay with us here at The Iris Garden." Matt summarizes it all with the statement, "It's not gold that makes you wealthy,.... it's your friends."

  • Road from I-65 Exit 68 (16.0 miles)

    From I-65, you take exit 68 and travel west on 46 for 16 miles. You will come to a "T" and turn right to come up the main shopping street in town (Van Buren Street which is also 135 N.) Follow the directions below to bring you to our property.
    • Your unit is part of the Iris Garden Lodging property. The IRIS GARDEN LODGING address is 79 North Van Buren Street, which is the North end of the block that the Brown County Courthouse sits on. (The Courthouse has the South half of the block and we have the north half.)
    If traveling north up through town on Van Buren Street (135 N.), you go straight through the traffic light in the center of town (we only have two stop lights in town) and the large brick Courthouse will be just past that light on the right. Keep going and our property is the rest of the block past the Courthouse property.
    You will turn right at the end of the block onto EAST Gould Street. Go slowly up the little hill and take the FIRST RIGHT onto the little road marked "Robert "Buck" Stogsdill Way". GO SLOW,… OUR PARKING IS THE FIRST GRAVEL PARKING YOU COME TO ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD. You are now coming along the backside of our little slice of heaven and you will park in the small gravel parking lot on the backside of the main building on our property (large brown wood building on your right with a burnt-orange color metal barn style roof) or parallel park on the left side of the road straight across the street from our little parking lot. There are signs that state PARKING FOR IRIS GARDEN LODGING. Please be mindful of other guests and park as tight as you are comfortable with to insure adequate parking. Call us if this parking is full and we will direct you to additional parking.

    The path around to the front of the building is on the North side of the parking lot (to your right if you are facing the building from the parking lot). The office is the first door on the left on the front of this building.
    • Please call us for help with directions or with any question you may have. We forward the business number (812-988-2422) to our cell phones when we are not on the property and after hours so that we are always available and ready to help you. We look forward to your visit.
