The King Alfred Information

At the King Alfred you will find wonderful freshly prepared pub food, a fine selection of wines and ales and a warm welcome from your hosts and our team The King Alfred also offers a selection of well-appointed guest rooms so you can relax and stay with us as well which will include a free continental breakfast to take away. A cosy and warming atmosphere broken up into segments being a restaurant, pub, and a relaxing corner seating area accompanied by a two sofas and log burner or alternatively take a seat in our large garden either on a bench or a picnic blanket to unwind

At first the frontal appearance of this delightful yet traditional English pub looks cheerful and welcoming, being covered from top to toe in Virginia Creeper foliage. The pub is built in a 'blue Lias stone' common to the Somerset region. Upon entry it feels like passing through a church porch with exposed beams before entering into the main bar area where you can see a selection of ales and draught beers on tap. We have a separate restaurant area and a lounge area accompanied by sofas and a beautiful log burner for them cold winter nights. Alternatively you can walk through into our large back garden which is an absolute sun trap on those summer days where you can relax on a picnic blanket if you wish.
