The Old Posthouse B&B Information
Description
We are a family run Bed and Breakfast located in the former village post office. The building dates back to Victorian times and has been refurbished to a high standard to offer a welcoming and comfortable place to stay - "a home from home" as a number of our guests have commented. VisitEngland have awarded us a 4 star rating together with a Silver Award and a Breakfast Award. Located in the quiet village of Normanby by Spital, we are a 2 minute walk from the local village pub and a 5 minute drive from the A15 with easy access to the historic city of Lincoln, Market Rasen Racecourse, the Lincolnshire Wolds, the indoor antiques centres at Hemswell Cliff and a variety of other attractions. We offer a great place to stay as a base for exploring large parts of Lincolnshire, or if visiting the area on business; and there is plenty of private parking at the side of the house behind gates which we shut and lock at night. The 3 bedrooms have been tastefully decorated and we use luxury Hypnos mattresses to try and ensure guests get a great night's sleep. We offer a wide selection of teas and coffees. Guests can sit outside and enjoy the garden. We take great pride in offering a great breakfast and to that end use quality Lincolnshire produce so that guests can start the day with the great taste of Lincolnshire. We also offer evening meals by separate arrangement. We started taking guests in April 2018 and were given a Guest Review Award for 2018 by Booking.com for getting 10 out of 10 for all our reviews on their website; we were chosen as one of 3 finalists for the Tourism Excellence Awards in 2019 and 2020 for Lincolnshire for Best Bed and Breakfast, and SME News recently named us Most Charming Bed and Breakfast 2023 - Lincolnshire. To find out for yourself what our guests thought about us you can read reviews of us on Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Facebook or Google.
We want our guests to enjoy their stay and we do everything we can to ensure your stay is relaxing and comfortable whether on holiday wanting to explore the area or visiting the area for a specific purpose such as business or to buy antiques from the antiques centres at Hemswell Cliff. 2 reviews summarise what we hope our guests will think of us and our Bed and Breakfast. The first taken from our Visitors Book from a couple who stayed for a week to explore the area: "One of the best holiday stays we have had in 31 years of holidaying. Lovely welcome, a great room, cosy snug and fabulous evening meals." The other on TripAdvisor from a guest who stayed a couple of nights for a nearby wedding and to look around Lincoln: "The welcome, room, cleanliness, fabulous breakfast and quality of information provided are all well above expectation. Would not hesitate to recommend this B and B if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed." In brief, we like meeting people and want our guests to feel at home; which is why so many reviews comment on the warm welcome we offer.
