The Swan Inn Information

Description

The Swan is a lovely village pub situated on the border of Berkshire/ Oxfordshire. It has a beautiful courtyard and private garden to enjoy the lovely summer evenings. It has 5 bedroom lettings consisting of twins and doubles that have been freshly refurbished. The inside has a bar area where you will be greated with a warm welcome. There is an open dining area to enjoy some wonderful locally sourced dishes off the menu. You can dine for breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Swan or join us for a Sunday roast.

The Swan East Ilsley

The Swan is a pub set in the beautiful village of East Ilsley. It dates back to the 17th Century. It has a large bar/dining area with 2 large fireplaces. There is also a separate breakfast/dining room too. At The Swan you will be made to feel most welcome. We are family friendly and also welcome good behaved dogs on leads so to they can enjoy the beautiful walks in and around the village. There is also a local park for the children to be safe whilst having fun.

Accessibility

Access Statement The bedrooms at The Swan are on the first floor , we do not have a lift. The dining room is on the ground floor. Unfortunately, the nature of our listed building makes it impossible to comply fully with the latest specifications for full wheelchair access.

Directions

A car is recommended when staying at the property
  • Road from Newbury (9.6 miles)
    From Newbury, head east on Bear Lane towards the A339. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit for A339. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit. Take the slip road to merge onto the A34. Continue along the A34 for 6.9 miles  and take the slip road signposted 'East Ilsley'. Bare left at the junction and continue through the village and we are located just after the under pass on you right hand side.
  • Road from Didcot (10.3 miles)
    From Didcot, head west along Broadway toward Vicarage Road. Go through 3 roundabouts staying on Broadway. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit for B4493/ Foxhall Road. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit for the A4130. Keep left to stay on the A4130/ Milton Interchange. Take the slip road for the M4/A34 and head towards Newbury. Continue on the A34 for 6.3 miles. Take the slip road on the left and head towards Compton/ East Ilsley. Keep straight heading towards Abingdon Road. At the junction, The Swan is straight in front of you.
