The Watermans Arms Information

Description

A quintessential 17th Century Inn, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, at the bottom of a steep valley next to Bow Creek and bridge. The Inn has been used as a smithy, a brew house, petrol station, a prison and a haunt for the feared press gangs. The area was recorded in the doomsday book. Built in the 17th-century, Waterman’s Arms overlooks Bow Creek, near Tuckenhay. Hidden away at the bottom of a steep valley, the streamside tables are perfect for savouring a pint of the fine Palmer’s Copper Ale. The lunches, sourced from local suppliers and served under an outdoor awning, attract foodies from as far away as Exeter and Plymouth. Golfing, fishing and walking are just a few of the hundreds of opportunities for outdoor adventure whilst staying at The Waterman's Arms. We have seven top class golf courses just a short car ride from us and if you let us know that you are wishing to play we can assist you with all the necessary arrangements, stocked lakes to fly fish and miles of tranquil rivers where you can laze away hours in the hazy afternoon sun. We have fifteen well appointed en-suite rooms with large bathrooms and showers in the Annexe and shower rooms in the Inn. Direct dial telephones and free Wi-Fi equipped throughout. Dogs most welcome in all bedrooms. We have two separate dining rooms, , seating no more than 35 people in each Being close to the stunning Devon coast opens up not only the chance to walk a part of the beautiful and awe-inspiring Southwest Coastal Footpath but offers fishing both onshore and off one of the many wrecks that litter our shoreline.
