Twyford Farm B&B Information

Description

Located in the beautiful Ashdown Forest, and within the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty, Twyford Farm offers a rural retreat for all – whether you want to explore or relax - in this truly magical location. Providing a unique experience, our aim is to provide top quality accommodation whilst demonstrating that farming can co-exist and benefit from a countryside rich in wildlife. The house and its impressive location is a perfect base for visitors exploring the many attractions of the surrounding area. As well as this, the beautifully preserved stabling block offers you the opportunity to bring your own horse and ride the many forest trails. (And there are kennels for your dogs too!) After a busy day exploring all this beautiful area has to offer, relax with a cup of tea on the terrace overlooking the lake before heading out to sample some of the excellent food at the many local restaurants and pubs. There’s also a spacious drawing room and library with stunning views over rolling pasture down to the main lake This beautiful Sussex farm house dating back to the 1700s has three luxury en-suite guest rooms including one suite/family room available. All rooms are decorated in a country house style, with spectacular views over farmland and woods. Each room has a Harrison’s bed made in Yorkshire and are renowned for their comfort and support, made using British Wool and other natural fibres they are designed to give a memorable nights sleep. For those who need to check in with work or home there is free wi-fi available in all rooms. There are more than 80 acres of Woodland including some beautiful specimen trees within a mixed deciduous woodland, and two picturesque fishing lakes, to which guests will have exclusive access for walks and picnics and are available for fishing. Day tickets available-please enquire for details.

Liz and I both have farming and the countryside in the blood, Liz having trained at Seale Hayne Agricultural College and myself at Plumpton Agricultural College just down the road from Twyford! We have a lifetime’s experience in many aspects of livestock farming and are continuing this tradition at Twyford with our pedigree flock of Charollais sheep, breeding rams plus a flock of ewes to produce top quality lambs. With previous experience of catering for shoots and functions and a love of entertaining, it’s second nature for us to offer accommodation at a very high standard and to create a ‘home from home’ environment which is comfortable and welcoming.
