The historic Tutor style home is furnished with antiques and each of our five guestrooms has a view of the gardens and its own distinctive feel to make your stay with us a memorable one. The grounds boast a formal gardens and lovely woodlands. Located in the village of Newark we are only two blocks from the Erie Canal and a convenient drive to Rochester and Syracuse. Our location is just minutes from the Finger Lakes wine trails, several lakes, local ski resorts, apple farms, outlet shopping, the birthplace of the Mormon religion and many more attractions.
Steeped in the rich history of American hybrid roses, Vintage Gardens Bed and Breakfast is a unique property of historical significance. It is noteworthy for its association with the growth and development of the Jackson and Perkins Company, one of the largest and best-know horticultural firms in the United States that brought "Roses to American Gardens". Michael and Kimberlee Meeks, natives of California, were on vacation in the New York Finger Lakes region in May of 2006. They had always dreamed of owning a grand property and opening a Bed and Breakfast. They discovered that the historic estate was listed for sale and it was love at first sight. In August of 2006, the Meeks purchased the property, moved to Newark and started the Bed and Breakfast. Today, the grounds boast a formal rose garden and fountain, large mature trees, many perennials and lovely woodlands. Guests love to stroll along the trail that winds its way from just behind the house and meanders casually to a gazebo in the woodland area or taking afternoon tea in the gardens adorned with cherry trees, flowering perennials, vegetable garden, azaleas, fruit trees and many varieties of roses.
