The Wellington Information

Description

The Wellington Inn is situated in Welwyn village (commonly known as ‘the Welly’), is a handsome medieval inn which seamlessly blends old and new together. The Wellington reopened on May 24th 2010 after a major refurbishment with a new restaurant layout, a bigger and better terrace on which to enjoy long warm evenings, an even better open fire and of course six unique and gorgeous bedrooms. All the charm and character of its heritage has been carefully retained whilst a new and stylish contemporary element has been introduced. The 5-star Inn designation and Rosette from the AA have confirmed what many already knew. The Wellington offers delicious fresh food, amazing wines and bedrooms to die for, all enhanced by a marriage of medieval architecture and contemporary design. The six boutique bedrooms enjoy 13th century architecture alongside modern drench showers or slipper baths, WiFi, TV, Nespresso coffee machines and beautiful glass wardrobes. Just a flight of stairs away is the Wellington restaurant serving British food with a twist in comfortable and friendly style! We don’t believe in doing fussy and complicated things with these delicious ingredients, but instead would rather they were treated with love, brought to the table just as they should be and complimented by our amazing wines. We are fortunate to have a close relationship with Chester Osborn – d’Arenberg winemaker extraordinaire – so our wine list includes some of our favourite wines from the exquisite d’Arenberg collection, plus a few other chosen wines from across the world! In the morning relax and enjoy breakfast, anything from a 'Full English' to an 'Eggs Benedict' or simply toast and pastries. Our team want nothing more other than to make sure you have a splendid start to your day.
