Dubbed the Sunroom by Alma Mary Woldert-Spence, this (14' x 11') room located upstairs in the southwest corner of the house was her writing room where she composed her poetry. A sunny room with several windows all covered with white lace, the Sunroom is adjacent to the front balcony, which is available to all guests, but it does not have a private entrance to the balcony. Featuring the original heart-of-pine floors, this room is decorated in blue, rose, burgundy and white, and furnished with an antique full-size bed of ornately carved oak with burl-wood overlay and an antique hand-carved oak vanity topped with a pair of Aladdin lamps. A small sitting area is nestled in an alcove. The private bath has a step-in shower and a wall-mounted hairdryer. NOTE: The West side of our upstairs rooms show evidence of the full attic space it once was. There is a small step-down into this room; and a low overhead spot for our taller guests to navigate. Featuring 12ft ceilings adorned with wide crown molding, you will enjoy your very own private entrance directly from the garden deck area. Your semi-private screened porch opening to the front of the house provides a convenient yet quiet place to start and end your daily travels in Tyler! Guests can pass through the screened porch to the Alma Mary; and it also directly adjoins the William room, either of which can be convenient for those traveling in a group. This fully carpeted retreat is furnished with a Queen four-poster black wrought-iron bed romantically draped with white lace, side table, and early American maple dresser and hutch units. Our smallest bathroom in the house is fitted with a glass step-in corner shower. Wireless Internet and Cable TV included. Maximum Occupancy: 2

Our (true) Story: We met in a dream, that dream came to life; and we are blessed to share our good fortune with the world we meet. Thomas “Mike” (The Colonel) is an American hero who actively served our country for 26 years, and retired from the Pentagon. The Colonel is now in charge of materials acquisition and heavy lifting. He treats his wife like a queen, strangers like friends, and friends like family. An engaging story and genuine smile will always accompany his helping hands. Favorite remark: “We are meeting everyone in the world, one person at a time.” Barbara (The Queen) is the multi-dimensional muse of creativity and design. After ten years of living the fast-paced life in Washington D.C., we decided to take our talents to a whole new level. We believe in living the life that we dream; recognizing the circumstances and opportunities that will bring those dreams, and perhaps a fragment of fantasy, to life. When we visited in the fall of 2014 we immediately knew Tyler, Texas was a great location; and the Woldert-Spence Manor was our dream home. Come share with us, if only for a moment in time, a wonderful, relaxing experience and some sweet dreams of your own!
