Bickleigh Castle Hotel Information

Bickleigh Castle offers guest accommodation with 17 bedrooms in our thatched courtyard cottages. We also offer a beautiful Tudor Bridal Suite situated in the Castle itself, with its very own private Bathroom. All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard, with tea & coffee making facilities, breakfast is at an extra cost. The full range is available to all guests booking through the Castle's website or one of the associated agencies (e.g. hotels.com). You may book with us directly via our website, under 'accommodation'. Bickleigh Castle has extensive gardens and grounds and is suited to people who like 'the great outdoors'. We have on site a hard Tennis Court (for year-round use), a croquet lawn, outdoor hot-tub (April - October w.p.), outdoor sitting areas and permits for fly-fishing on our stretch of the River Exe The Exe is also suitable for kayaking, but not for other boats. Our quiet lane is suitable for cycling, walking and jogging, and it is possible to go to the village of Thorverton (five miles) where there are two pubs and a bus service to get you back to the Castle! Indoor facilities include a large and comfortable guests' sitting room (available 24 hirs) and the dining room. We can set up a movie night (big screen) for large groups staying, given good notice. As well as the TV and Wifi in the sitting room, there are also some games and puzzles. We are in a conservation area, in a beautiful valley, hence the area is abundant in wildlife. There are many varieties of birds and other creatures. We offer to our resident guests a free guided tour of the Castle. The Castle itself dates back to Norman times and has a very fascinating history. There is a charge of £8 per adult for non-resident visitors but we operate the access scheme for Historic Houses members. There is plenty of free parking for all visitors.
