The Blue Boar Inn Information
Description
Situated in the charming Norfolk village of Great Ryburgh near Fakenham, this traditional 17th century English country inn boasts low-beamed ceilings, an impressive inglenook fireplace in the main bar and offers a warm welcome to both regulars and new customers alike. Situated only a few miles from the historic market town of Fakenham, The Blue Boar Inn is ideally placed if you're looking for a convenient base to explore the tranquil beauty of North Norfolk, the medieval wonders of the city of Norwich or the rest of Nelson's own historic county. Built in 1685, the Blue Boar Inn has been at the heart of village life in Great Ryburgh for over 3 centuries. This 17th century listed coaching inn, which abounds with period features, cosy corners and ingle nook fireplace, has been offering a warm welcome to travellers and guests since the reign of King Charles II – a tradition that Sue and John are proud to continue to the present day. The Blue Boar Inn brings the very best ideas of contemporary food and drink, mixed them with a liberal sprinkling of old fashioned and local recipes, which has resulted in a reputation for excellence that is truly well deserved. Using only the very best of locally sourced ingredients we are proud to showcase the very best produce available. Norfolk holds a tremendous amount of attractions and places of interest for visitors and residents alike. Probably most famous for the hundreds of miles of tranquil inland waterways that make up the Norfolk Broads Nelson's county also offers other areas of outstanding natural beauty – such as North Norfolk where The Blue Boar is happily situated.
