Brooke House Information

Description

At Brooke House, we offer both bed & breakfast and half-board accommodation with all meals freshly prepared and cooked using an Aga. All meals are served in our very spacious, light and airy dining room. Our guest lounge is the ideal place to relax and browse the wealth of information about Shanklin and the Isle of Wight that we have on offer. We are a non-smoking premises although smoking is allowed on the front patio which is also a lovely spot to sit and watch the world go by enjoying, as we do, a sunny corner position. We are ideally located for the Island Line train service and Southern Vectis bus routes which makes exploring the Isle of Wight simple and easy, especially for those travellers who wish to leave their car at home. Shanklin Esplanade, which is lined with amusements, restaurants and hotels, many offering evening entertainment in the high season, is only a short stroll away. The picturesque Shanklin Old Village, Shanklin Chine and Shanklin Theatre are also all within easy walking distance. For those who enjoy walking and cycling, the cliffpath to Sandown and beyond is easily accessible as is the Undercliff path to Ventnor. At Brooke House we have 7 bedrooms all with en suite shower rooms. Each bedroom is individually and tastefully decorated to a high standard and all offer the following facilities: Hospitality Tray, Digital TV with FreeView Channels, Free W-Fi Access, Radio Alarm Clock, Hairdryer, Toiletries and Guest Information Folder - containing all you need to know about your accommodation and useful information about the Island. We also have several superior rooms which benefit from twin or super king beds, seating area and fridge. All guests have access to a fridge on the upstairs landing. Brooke House has been owned and run by Hana & Steve since February 2007. We are both originally from Oxford. We are generally open from March until October.

Directions

  • Road from East Cowes (14.0 miles)
    From East Cowes Red Funnel car ferry, take the second exit at roundabout onto Well Road, A3021, A3054 to Newport, A3020 to Sandown, A3020 to Shanklin.
  • Road from Fishbourne/Ryde (11.0 miles)
    Fishbourne Wightlink car ferry, B3339 (Fishbourne lane), A3054 to Ryde (Esplanade), straight along the Esplanade to the boating lake, follow the road round to the right onto A3055 to Sandown, A3055 to Shanklin.
  • Road from Yarmouth (19.0 miles)
    From Yarmouth Wightlink car ferry, A3054 to Newport, A3020 to Sandown, A3020 to Shanklin.
  • Train from Ryde (9.0 miles)
    The train station is annexed to the Wightlink Catamaran at Ryde Pier Head. The last stop on the line is Shanklin. We are only a couple of minutes walk from Shanklin Train Station.
  • Bus from Ryde (9.0 miles)
    From Ryde take the No.3 bus route to Shanklin. There are several bus stops within a couple of minutes walk from Brooke House.
