Descripció
Set in the beautiful Norfolk country side, this former coaching inn is well known for its fabulous food, warm welcome and stylish rooms with modern en-suites. Our rooms are decorated in calming grey tones with white white accessories,they all have wall mounted smart TVs and complementary tea, coffee, biscuits and toiletries. The Recruiting Sergeant is ideally situated for visiting the historic City of Norwich with its Norman Castle and Cathedral only 15 minutes away, the Norfolk Broads National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty are right on our door step, the local coast only 15 minutes away and North Norfolk less than 30 minutes away. Getting here couldn't be easier, we are on a direct bus route from Norwich, 7 minutes from the local Rail station and 11 minutes from Norwich International Airport. There is a friendly bar with six well kept real ales, five lagers, extensive wine list, not to mention the 25 gins. We have three different dining areas as well as a large well kept garden and patio area for those long summer days and nights and a blazing fire for wintry nights. The Recruiting Sergeant is a family run business established in 1989. Matthew, Nicola and their team are proud of their reputation for great food served in generous portions. Our food is prepared using quality produce, sourced locally wherever possible and used in season for the finest results, our relationship with suppliers dates back over 25 years. Across the whole operation the Recruiting Sergeant looks to offer a superior product at a fair price, our aim, has and will always be to offer good service and value for money. Our location means there are numerous walks on our door step taking you along the river and through glorious countryside, circular walks vary from 20 minutes to all day, or mix it up with a walk, narrow gauge steam train ride, canoe or cycle ride. On your way look out for our resident KingFishers, Otters, Deer and of course the Swallow tail butterfly
Matthew and Nicola Colchester took over the Recruiting Sergeant in 1989 when they were only 19. Since then they have got married and had two children, who are now 17 and 20 and both work in the business between studies. Nicola manages the front of house team and is supported by Vicky who has been with the couple since 1996 and Julie who she was at school with, there is always one of them on site.Matthew manages the kitchen and is supported by Omar, Tim, Nick, Raff and Terry. The couple and their team believe in offering a superior product at a fair price and aways giving good value for money. They believe that each customer should be made to feel special and remembered. We are a dog friendly pub and have five of our own at home, normally at least one travels with Nicola and they enjoy the wonderful walks on our doorstep.
