Sea View Information

Description

Sea View Guesthouse and its management pride in offering a very Irish welcome and relaxing stay at all times. With experience in the tourism industry for over thirty years, we aim to make your holiday a wonderful experience and as enjoyable as possible. All rooms have been recently renovated offering a very high standard of comfort. We are equipped to cater for those on walking and cycling holidays, both large and small groups and also assist in transporting luggage to your next destination. For the outdoor enthusiast, we are situated right in the middle of the Beara Way Walking Route within miles of wonderful walks on either side. Prime fishing locations are within walking distance of the Guesthouse. Allihies is an old mining village steeped in history of the old Copper Mines where over 1500 people worked in the late 19th Century. These mines are now closed but are nevertheless very interesting to visit. The Copper Mine is just half a mile from the Guesthouse. A mine museum and cafe have also been opened, providing a history of the mining tradition in Allihies and proving to be a huge tourist attraction. Just half a mile from the Guesthouse is a beautiful white sandy beach. Situated 100 metres away is the village playground with its basketball and tennis facilities and play area for smaller children. Allihies has a lot to offer anyone that wants to get away from it all. Miles of wild unspoilt countryside, beautiful white sandy beaches, high rugged mountains and the wild but beautiful Atlantic. Ideal for a summer holiday or just a short break. The village has three lovely pubs where you will find good craic, good music or just a nice chat with some of the locals. There is also a nice restaurant at O'Neills Bar. We boast some of the richest fishing grounds in all of Europe with a wide variety of fish to be caught. The area is also renowned as a Bird Watchers paradise with many varieties of rare birds visiting Dursey Island and cliffs around our shores.
